if you think there won't be a big turnout for that band then you are <17>ing crazy. They were one of the most popular bands around when kids my age were in middle school, so it will be fun to see them playing those old songs. This is by FAR the best act we've had in a long time. We had that black hip-hop group "112" that sang "Peaches n' Cream" as the main act when i was freshman. This is a lot better.

Where do we get these people that plan these events? Seriously, the Ninj-er needs to judy chop these folks.

Give me something different than this same ol' ****. We must have a really limited budget, and I admit I know nothing about how much a real band would cost - but Jubilee Jam seems to have the same problem. We just suffer from a serious live music deficiency in this state. At least The Lyric in Oxford is pulling in some acts.

Modest Mouse, The Shins, Ryan Adams, Ray Lamontagne, JJ Cale, Kings of Leon, Matisyahu would be sick, even some more heady bands like String Cheese, Galactic (I mean it is a college town), MGMT, My Morning Jacket, Drive By Truckers, even something borderline gay like Jason Mraz or John Mayer - at least that would reel in females in boatloads. For those that like country, Zac Brown would be a great get. Getting a really good DJ like Girl Talk (on a side stage) would be a good idea too if they really want to make it a "Bash."

I realize music is the most subjective thing in the world, but come on - at least get with the times.
if you don't think 3EB is going to bring in boatloads of hot young leg you're not firing on all cylinders.

Personally I liked them the two times I saw them play the Riverfront Ampitheater in Little Rock, AR. Good show, good music...

Bottom line, you're never going to satisfy everyone so why anyone is bitching about it is beyond me.

because they don't care. They just want you to buy them beer until they are drunk enough to not feel bad for letting your sweaty *** 17 them. You might as well have a good band while you are at it. If I am seriously engaging in an argument of whether 3rd Eye Blind is any good or not, then... oh forget it.

I think the fact that we are having this debate explains why 3rd Eye Blind is here in the first place. There are better bands from Starkville that you could pay a third of what you are paying 3rd Eye Blind. I guess this town is content in being a cultural afterthought to Oxford. I guess I never will.

The SA would NEVER bring a band like Ween, Wilco, DrivebyTruckers
DBT was at old main music fest a few years ago... maybe 05 or 06? I think that's sponsored by the SA. But like you said, seemed like most people didn't know who they were.

Robert Randolph, Moe., and the Wailers in recent years? Or is that the Spring event I am thinking about. I would honestly rather have Darius Rucker, Better Than Ezra, or some of the other bands we have griped about in the past rather than Third Eye Blind. That said, I will still have a 17ing fantastic time whoever plays.

Where is it being held? It seems every year they have made it a little gheyer in regards to location. The Maxwell and University intersection is the best place to hold it.
