30 yd TD? Wilson was trying to go back to the bench with the D and Mullen grabbed him, turned him around and give him an *** chewing for a good 5 minutes. It wasn't a pep talk it was an *** chewing.

*** chewings only mean something if you see results. Otherwise, they're just another cause of Mullenbury voice.

Didn't see it

Watched on TV and they never showed Mullen getting on anyone (that I recall). I remember thinking - why in the hell is he not more upset with what is going on? Thinking back to the MTSU game he was going balistic several times during the 1st half when we were playing bad. Last night he didn't seem to be too worried. Hopefully in person it looked much different.

That`s a hell of a good way for Mullen to lose this team if he hasn`t already. #notsmart

BS, The bear used to do it all the time. It's called being in charge and holding those who answer to you accountable. It's the reason he is the head coach and the buck stops with him

Suits the **** out of me but I can assure that a white head coach embarrassing a black coordinator in front of 50,000 people with the coordinator`s mostly black team watching is volatile IF it was as bad as Delmar said.

edited to add: Comparing Mullen to Bear Bryant.....for real ?

most teams dont notice color within the staff...coaches become like fathers alot of times...If you had a microphone on the sidelines like NFL films, you could have probably heard a back-up WR lean over to another player on offense and say "bout time he said something to defense, dey aint stopped **** since Middle Tennessee"

It's not necessarily about color. Most defensive players identify with defensive coaches, "their coach." If you had a microphone you would hear defensive players say "he needs to do something about that 17ed up offense and leave us (Wilson) alone."

Mullen looked a pretty pissed off in the post game interview. And quite flippant. And says it was "100% his fault" for not getting them ready. I hope he learns from this.

So what's a white head coach supposed to do? Say nothing? The chewing out (if it occurred like Delmar said; I didn't see it, but that means nothing) would have been by no means racial and was deserved.

Damn, what an idiot. Where did I compare him to the bear. I just said bear bryant would chew his assistants out all the time. They get paid to coach these kids up. It is the hc responsibility to see that these guys are doing their job. And you're going to pull the race card here? Really?

Well sure, I mean all we need is more time, a weak schedule (that means a couple of down sec teams too, like auburn and ut) 6 or 7 wins so we can go to the music city bowl, and presto we will be up there competing for championships

He`s suppose to conduct himself like a highly paid HC and not completely lose control of his emotions. I didn`t see it but unless Delmar greatly exaggerated Mullen lost it and went "over the top". Yall can spin this anyway you want but although IT WAS NOT RACIAL ON MULLEN`S PART it just wasn`t smart. C34 has already spoken down from the mountain that to a lot of these kids view their coaches/coordinator are father figure so I`m gonna assume Wilson has the love and respect of at least some of his players if not the majority. "Spinning him around" and beating him down(if it was as Delmar said) when Wilson had to stand there and take it in front of all those people and in front of his players is very poor leadership.

And one more thing if you haven`t noticed a white man`s and a black man`s perception of racism are not always the same these days.

You have obviously never seen Nick Saban coach. He went ballistic when we finally scored with 5 minutes left in the game with nothing but scrubs in for Bama.

Wilson's scheme was not good. But in all honesty if Mullen allowed some of those play calls to go by his watch he should be chewing his own *** out too.
