Make sure you have a great set of truck nuts on it. You will be fighting the ladies off. Make sure you have a badass smoke stack and a bumper sticker that says these colors don't run

Just purchased it last monday...took it to my mechanic after the sale...stupid on my part i know....but he tells me the transfer case is bad...i am making the lot fix it....will fixing transfer case make it ride smoother...i like the truck other than the terrible noises it makes when you stop..also front end not alligned which causes terrible squeal in both front tires when you take corners

- mechanic first, but you know that now
- alignment should be cheap
- Silverados have squeaky brakes, generally speaking
- I wouldn't think that the transfer case would be making a ton of noise unless you have it in auto or 4wd i.e. the front axle is engaged. I'm not very mechanically inclined, that said, but have an 08 silverado and that's been my experience

Nice to see you apply your posting sensibilities/logic to auto purchases as well.

What kind of shape is the body and interior? Is it a 1500/2500/3500? What motor? Sounds like you bought a piece of ****. I'll buy it from you much under market value and fix the issues.

130k is nothing on an LS-based engine. You will have small issues here and there like any 12 year old vehicle. I have a 99 with 250k and would hop in it and drive cross-country without a worry. Why is it in the shop?

I haven't seen it, but you can guarantee the rocker panels are rusted. Even if it looks like it isn't, it is under the paint.

I can weld and do body work too. Makes it that much cheaper.

Those trucks are hit and miss with that. Regular cabs held up well though.

Does the transfer case clunk when you take off? It just needed a fluid change and it will stop.

When you change the u-joint, lube the spindle on the driveshaft. If it's too dry, it can make a noise starting and stopping.

I have an appt Tuesday to replace the crankshaft position sensor.

Sounds a lot like what your issue is though. Mine is '07 2500

Make sure the tires have enough air in them. Low tire pressure can cause squealing when making turns.

Also need to replace the muffler bearings.

People still buy Chevys?

... a fool and his money, I reckon. Seriously, just Googled "Chevy x-fer case trouble' and hit the veritable jackpot of back history.

Nice research skills there, Ulis.
