Vintage Jordan. I didn't think he was out of line at all. That's just who he is. As for criticism of the speech from the media, there's just as much praise for him sticking to his persona. If all you did was "watch clips" you probably saw things out of context. He was crying when he got up there, regained his composure, and gave credit to plenty of people with funny anecdotes that traced his entire life. His message was that he was most thankful for those who had tried (knowingly and unknowingly) to slow him down or challenge him. To me, that's as true as a competitor can get. His interview with Mike Wilbon that aired before the ceremony was fantastic as well.
It's hard to be humble when you're that good and mean that much to the game, or the 1990's in general, but Jordan still has. He might be unconventional, but that doesn't make him an *******. He might not tip (and coming from Barkley doesn't say a lot) but he's donated ungodly amounts of money throughout his life. The man also did Space Jam, which is one of the greatest sports movies for kids, ever. But maybe that was only special to people my age. He's always been an ambassador for the game, gotten along well with fans, and shown appreciation for the guys who played with him on the court.
You can hate on Michael Jordan all you want, but in terms of NBA personnel, fans of basketball in general, or the entire f*ckin world for that matter, you are in the minority. And there's no debating that.
By the way Costanza, if any of these sentiments warrant another one of your "how does his dick taste" responses, you must first realize that a train of thought like that would suggest, in some form or another, this entire message board is a bunch of cock suckers. And if that's still the case, I would ask Coach how Mullen's dick tasted, you how Stansbury's dick tasted, and CB9 how that antique car's muffler tasted. We are all blindly supportive of our own choosings.
