As a skier, I frequently frequently drive on I-70 in the mountains in CO in the winter. Every trip you come out unscathed feels amazing. Good tires and judgement, (not 4WD) are your best friends going downhill - there are lessons learned daily on that on I70..

I have a cousin who lives in Breck. See has lived there since she graduated from Wasted State (Western State College in Gunnison) back in the mid-seventies. She is kind of old school. Prefers to drive over Loveland Pass rather than go through the tunnel. The tunnel freaks her out. I went over Loveland too many times in bad whiteout conditions. I will take the tunnel every time.
