Anyone been to Ceasars since it moved on land?

I am going tomorrow for the first time since it moved. Is it better? Is there a non smoking section?

By the way, it's going to take some time for me to stop referring to it as the boat.

I've been once since the move,didn't like it.Non smoking section in the middle of smoking sections with open floor plan(makes no sense to me) Can't find usual machines(if you have favorites.) Maybe this part is better now but the staff didn't know the layout much better than anyone else(they weren't much help)

On the plus side the sports betting area is much improved (if it is working),the computers went down when I was there cost me about a grand in bets I couldn't make. The chairs are very comfortable if you choose to watch games there.

It is pretty,it is clean but I am not a fan at this point. Hope you enjoy your experience there more than I did.

Been twice - with it being new everything is nice - sports book is Vegas like - on my two trips the machines are very tight almost laughable tight - guess they got to pay for that new building
Park on 2nd floor of garage - walk right into casino

That stinks about the non smoking. I really only play blackjack so I am not worried about the machines. I've been going to Winner's Circle over off Eastern Boulevard for my sports gambling needs so I will check that out but probably won't spend too much time there.

Definitely on my bucket list. Simpleton Kentucky won’t get anything like that for another 20+ years, it’s the devil!

Yep, been there. Liked the old boat much much better. Did not care much for it at all. And as some have stated, you can tell by the play they want to get it paid for pretty quick.

Correct. I don't know what the % of each dollar they have to pay out is exactly, but it's in the 70s at least.

If they don't pay out the minimum, then they lose their license.

The stats above about what makes the casinos the most money is a little deceiving because everyone and their mother plays penny slots in Vegas because it takes no skill.

It's not that deceiving, it's by FAR the worst bet in the casino.

I didn't care for it at all. It is just one giant clusterf@#k now. As it was mentioned, there is a very small nonsmoking section (probably makes up about 10% of the whole place) and it is buried in between smoking sections on both sides. There weren't even many good games in it as well.

There's a high roller area (can't remember if it was just slots or not) in a separate room. That should have been used as the nonsmoking area. There was also a bunch of machines that were not working at the time.

Plus God forbid if you need to go up to the customer service counter area and you aren't a high roller. You get to wait in a very long line with like 1 person helping while there are 2 or 3 helping the small lines of high rollers. Even our person would stop and bring in those others ahead of us sometimes as well.

About the only positive was I left with $150 more than I came with. Oh and it was a very short walk from the parking lot compared to the very long walk when it was on the boat. If you aren't going to play at the tables, it's probably better to just go to Derby City Gaming and save the long drive.

“The Machines are loose/tight” :joy: Quickest way to disregard anyone's opinion about a casino.


They did a great job with the new Caesars, imo. It's open/airy, modern, nice, and has a **** ton of tables - AND A SPORTSBOOK.



I do hear a lot of "I miss the boat", which I get from a nostalgic standpoint early on...but, get real [eyeroll]. The overall experience upgrade is Brobdingnagian.


-With regards to nonsmoking, the NS tables section is nice, and not surrounded by smoking on any side, as it's adjacent to the Poker Room w/ 2 complete rows of tables in the back. If you are a table player, you'll be very pleased with the setup.

I definitely liked not having to walk a half mile from the parking garage to get there. It was weird playing blackjack at a 6 person table. I always thought 5 was the limit but apparently I was wrong. The sports book looked nice but I won't be going there for that when Winner's Circle is so much closer. Plus no horse racing. The slots looked like they're squeezed in their more but I don't play them anyway so I don't care. All in all there really isn't a ton of difference to me.

Is this the best Sportsbook in Louisville area? Not familiar. Looking to do a golf/NCAA gambol. Will they be able to accommodate big crowds during March Madness?

Yes & kinda.

It's decent sized in terms of the open area, but not a ton of actual seating. Between the loungers, hightops, and Sportsbar that backs up to it, I'd guess around 60-70 tops. People also sit at the machines and party pit tables as well when not being used. Best you're going to get around here, that's for sure. If you've ever been to some of the smaller strip Caesars books (Flamingo, Paris, Harrahs, PH etc), it's pretty similar, but you can view the screens from a rather large area well into the Casino.


During peak times they have 4 tellers & 4 kiosks open, and I assume they'll have it fully staffed for March Madness -- I plan to be there opening Thurs & Sat. I assume it will be hectic/crowded, just like any other book in America will be, regardless of size.

Funny. Thanks for your thoughts on Caesar's. It's one thing to look on the site, may oversell their amenities. People may have comments on their experience, service, etc.
