Anyone else been impressed with Robert Elliot lately?

I was really worried about the RB situation next year 5 weeks ago, but Elliot has played well lately. He doesn't look like he's slow anymore. I think he looks pretty good. We have alot of good talent in the freshmen although they are unproven, and we have Ballard coming in who looks pretty solid. I would say we look pretty good at RB next year. I think Elliot will be the starter, but I am anxious to see Conner play.

if that makes any sense, didn't have confidence in his knee so to speak. I think he's gotten better each game and saturday i think he convinced himself that he could cut and not tear up his knee. he'll be one to watch for next year.

He didn't trust his recontructed knee and mix that in with a case of "fumblitis" made for a tough year for Elliott. Another offseason under Balis and possibly being atop the depth chart in the Spring could be some renewed confidence for Rob.

i agree. ive been very impressed... he hits the hole quickly, i think he'll have some breakaway runs next year because the last few weeks he has really hit the los going full speed. nice to see him break a few tackles and/or make the first guy miss-gotta have it out of him. he conner ballard perkins oughta be a nice foursome next year, throw in rashod henry getting a few carries (i think we see him as how ole miss used mccluster at the start of this year, 5 carries a game and some passes). i like shumpert a lot at fullback, and a good lead blocker will be important for elliot especially, hanrahan should be back as well

Suddenly, he has become a serviceable RB. I put him on par with a frosh that is just starting to get a feel for the game - which is consistent with the path that got him to where he is now.

I can't say if he'll be the guy for next year. But I think he'll earn a spot on the 2-deep and will be a decent RB for us.

Conner, Perkins, and I believe 3 JUCO running backs signed, Mullen will find a way to have a decent running attack. I don't think any of them will be able to match the effort of Dixon from this past season, but if Mullen has shown us nothing else, he's proven that he can make a decent offense out of anything.

I am relieved to see that Elliot at least resembles a running back now, though.

I don't buy into Ballard, he had no other offers besides us, right?
Whats the deal?

Yes very impressive.... Seriously, I hope he comes back next season strong. The knee injury he suffered was BRUTAL and hard to recover from. Conner is a STUD....

up until he hurt the knee. He was productive until then. He not only has to get stronger physically, but he has to get over the mental part as well. I think he will be much better next season.
