I've been a Bulldog fan for decades because I have two degrees from State. Man have I watched some bad teams play. There were some close games this year but I don't really expect them to win many games and for good reason. The coaches want to win and the players play hard but how many are genuinely devoted to State like fans are every year? KT looks good and he grew up a State fan but would anyone be surprised if he leaves for more money and greener pastures? I'll still be a fan and I'm looking forward to baseball but football is just too disappointing right now. I wonder how many wealthy donors see it as a money pit.

Not me. I want to win badly. But I’m in the minority which is why our program lags our rival.
They want to win more than us- that’s a factor. Always have. Example: Our fanbase pouted and whined about NIL. Their eyes lit up and realized it was a way to close the gap with bluebloods. When freeze was recruiting did the turn a blind eye? no they jumped in and made weekend visits insane experiences. We have a thread on here with people saying they aren’t going to the egg when we are a game away from bowl eligibility. Thats incredible. If the shoe was on the other foot they would fill up VH and try to send us on the road in the playoff
They hired Kiffin when no one would touch him. There hired Beard when no one would even speak to him.
I'm pretty sure fans are among the last reasons State lags behind. It's an insult to fans who have stood with the team from decades. Their admin hired a better coach, we had a good coach die, and then we made idiotic moves. Quit blaming fans. Like fans called 7 straight QB runs.
It’s emblematic of the problem though. And my God we are all frustrated but we are one game from bowl eligibility and can possibly make OM hit the road in the playoff. Why in the world wouldn’t we pack it out? TAMU put 100k in the stand last year in a similar situation last year. OM would damn sure do it. Its unreal to me people wouldn’t show up.
Winning is the only thing that will bring the fans back. And I’m not talking about 1 game or 1 season. We’ve been through this before. Just gotta go get a winner.
OM ain't putting 100,000 in the stands. TAMU is loaded with cash. Did we not win a Natty under Polk because of the fans? Saban must have won because of the fans.

Important. It’s both a symptom and also a A reason. Not THE reason we struggle.
State's had damn good fan support especially for the product on the field. To think otherwise is nonsense. Arkansas has great fan support and look at their record. Dan enjoyed great fan support and left. Auburn has great fan support but that hasn't mattered. At some point you realize the real reasons.
I just don’t know of many programs in our shoes that would have fans saying “nah I’m not going anymore this year”. TN brought a ton of fans bc we didn’t sell out our stadium.
I've long gone from feeling any anger and stress to experiencing joy when State shows me new ways of ineptitude. It was magnificent when I told everybody we weren't getting points on the long drive and then we botched the field goal in a way I've never seen one botched before.
