Anyone else see the NFL rule changes?

Some pretty significant ones.

The owners did pass several resolutions, including eliminating the forceout on receptions; allowing teams to defer their decision to the second half when winning the opening coin toss; and making field goals and extra points subject to replay review to determine whether the ball passes over the crossbar and through the uprights.</p>

In addition, any direct snap from center that is untouched by the quarterback now will be a live ball; in the past it was considered a false start and the play was blown dead. The 5-yard penalty for incidental contact with a facemask has been eliminated, with the 15-yarder remaining for any grasping or twisting of the facemask.</p> <div class="skinny"></div>

On Tuesday, the owners approved a communication device in the helmet of one defensive player.</p>

why add the reviews on fieldgoals and extra points, but I think its a good thing. Take all doubt out of the questionable calls even if it takes a few more mins. I dont agree with eliminating the 5 yard facemask though.

is that too many that should have been called personal fouls were called as 5-yarders. I think the intent is that just touching a guys face mask isn't a penalty at all, but if you grab it it's 15 yards even if you don't use it for leverage.

there were a ton of missed calls on that last year....every game somebody got pushed out of bounds and the refs always said no catch.
Eliminating it all together will help the DB's ...when a WR goes up for a pass on the sideline now, all they have to do is knock them out before they come down.

adopt the college OT rules, maybe place the ball at the 35 or 40 instead of 25, though.

And what are they going to do when a WR is grasped in the air by the DB and pretty much carried out of bounds.

It just makes the NFL like college has always been. It takes the guesswork out of the call. The receiver either came down in bounds or he didn't. None of this, "Well maybe he would have come down inbounds if he hadn't been forced out. We really don't know but we'll give him the catch anyway." ********.
