Anyone else think Anthony Davis is a little overrated?

He's obviously great, but I think this "next Tim Duncan" and "10-time all-star" talk is very premature. The talent is there as far as his shot-blocking but I think the Kentucky treatment makes him seem like he's a little better at present than he really is, because in his highlight reel on PTI a few minutes ago at least half of the blocks they showed were pretty clear fouls. It almost reminded me of the way Jarvis looked as a freshmen when he'd foul out in ten minutes. I think he's given too much credit on offense too. When we played he had trouble scoring in the post against Sidney because he simply couldn't move him and didn't have a great array of moves to get around him, and he's going to see that kind of resistance by way of size and/or strength pretty much every game he plays in the NBA. Don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic player and he'll be a successful pro; I just think the media treating it like a foregone conclusion that he's going to be a superstar is a little premature.

in our game that Davis is the complete version of Jarvis Varnado. Unfortunately for Davis, that stills means he's rail thin and won't be able to bang with the big bodies down low in the NBA. Renardo Sidney pretty much shut him down when he was in the game. And Renardo is lazy. NBA big men are going to be able to handle Davis much easier than Renardo did.<div>
</div><div>Remember what Brockman at Washington did to Jarvis? I expect Davis to find the NBA in a similar fashion. I could be extremely wrong... but what I saw from Renardoguardinghim, Davis is going to struggle when he's outweighed. He'll have to develop an outside shot or his NBA career could be short lived.</div>

he is way overrated as far as being the #1 pick. He doesn't have nearly enough strength to play center effectively in the NBA and I don't see him having the body type to be able to put on 30-40 lbs of muscle. He can jump high and he has freakishly long arms. So what? 98% of the NBA is stronger than him. It's a bad year to have the #1 pick in the NBA this year but I wouldn't draft like any of the teams do. I'd almost always draft a player that is ready to play from day 1.

18 or 19- way past his prime. Who wants a guy who is better than Jarvis at blocking shots and has a ridiculous offensive game to match. And the possibility of getting better? Gross.<div>You guys have it pegged.</div>

And he does not have a "ridiculous" offensive game, even the sports media who are over-hyping him will tell you that.
