Anyone else think Singletary is the NFL's version of Crooms?

Either way they both sux. Singleton is to stubborn to put a rookie RB into the game. The man doesn't know the weapon he has sitting on the bench.

except that it wasn't only in reference to not playing Dixon. It was directed more at the fact that he still thinks that Alex Smith is an NFL QB and he kept trotting his sorry *** out there over and over again. I don't know for certain that there's currently anyone better on the bench, but the fact that their organization couldn't find anyone better in 5 off seasons is unbelievable.

I agree 100% about Alex Smith. I actually wanted the 49ers to give Matt Leinart a long look and let the two compete this year, and if neither stepped up (likely), go out and get a free agent QB or draft someone like Jake Locker from Washington.

My pipe dream fantasy hope is that Tom Brady gets into a big contract dispute with the Patriots and decides to go back home. Wouldn't be a horrible idea since the 49ers have Vernon Davis, Crabtree, and Gore.

Singletary has Gore, Dixon, and Westbrook and what does he do? He runs it 19 times and passes it 40+ times with a bad QB. Unreal.

Here they are expected to make the playoffs and they lay a giant turd against a team picked to finish near the bottom of the NFL. Singletary = Croom. Smith = Henig. Gore = Dixon (at MSU). All Singletary needs is to cock his hat to the side and call the fans blind.

I suspect another game or two like that and the Niners will be switching coaches while they still have a chance.
