Looks like some of our bullpen guys might have a future in the pros after all...Brewers pitchers have walked in 4 consecutive runs.

I am biased, but that might be the most intelligent post you have made in some time.

Of course they still have to figure out their bullpen, but they really seem to have a solid club this year.

to stop loving MSU baseball. I'll still pull for the Cardinals no matter what the Cubs do. Besides, why can't we both be good? Then we all could be friends.(sarcasm/Bruiser)

The Cubs do have a very good team, and in all seriousness it could come come down to the Cubs and Cardinals in the Central. But there's a long way to go. I want to see how the Cardinals play on the road and see what happens with the closer situation and see what happens with Wellemeyer- I think it's pretty inevitable that he will be demoted at some point, the question is when, and who will replace him.

It would be kind of cool to see a Cardinals/Cubs NLCS opposite a Yankees/Red Sox ALCS. Apologies to Giants/Dodgers fans.

I think the Cards will hang in there, but the Cubs will win it by about 6-7 games...They are 4-2 now without Bradley or Lee hitting the ball at all

I am afraid that DLee is done. He's 33 now which with today's player should still be in his prime, albeit on the tail end of the prime. But his stats across the board are down. Pick a number, old fashioned or new, and they are down. Power is down, average is down, OPS is down. The only thing that's up is the number of DPs he grounds into. For that reason I wish they would flip flop him and Ramirez in the lineup and get Lee out of the 3 hole. I do think he still plays a Gold Glove caliber first base though. I think when June or July rolls around you are going to see the Cubs quietly shopping for a first baseman.

but I hardly think he is done. Hopefully, he is still able to make the adjustment and get the bat going. He is not going to bat .100 this season, he hasnt fallen off that much. Bradley, who has always hit, getting off to a bad start is just as puzzling. Sometimes guys that switch leagues have a real problem adjusting, I sincerely hope this isnt the case.

How bout Soriano though? He is swinging that bat like he is clubbing baby seals with it. His HR I saw in Houston of Oswalt got out in a damn hurry, and then he almost hit the damn Citgo sign the next night....

Well, I've always wanted Soriano in the three hole but Lou loves him at the top. Personally I would like to see this lineup until the top two show me they can't handle it.

Theriot
Fontenot (Lefty)
Soriano
Aramis
Bradley (Switch)
DLee
Soto
Fukodome (Left)

If you decide to play Miles, he is a switch hitter and can handle the two hole, or move Fukodome there and hit Miles 8th.

That's just me dreaming though. Lou is going to stick with Soriano at the top and probably Lee in the 3 hole.

It acutally has nothin to do with Lou, and everything to do with soriano. He says he's uncomfortable hitting anywhere else.

They actually tried the lineup and he did considerably worse. He just loves that leadoff spot and when he's the best all around hitter/player on the team you have to make sure he's comfortable

I've had a guy like that leading off, and when he is going great, its a helluva weapon. And when he is struggling, it leaves a big whole in your offense.

I'd stick with Lee another week in the 3-hole, if he doesnt come around, he has to drop him. Theriot and Fontenot are the damn team MVP's to this point offensively, they have been great. Having those guys 1-2 wouldnt be a bad idea at all. Not having Soto's bat in there isnt helping either, based on his production last year.

One thing we both agree on, there should be much more offensive production with the people they have in the line-up

Interesting. I remember the mini- tantrum he threw in Washington when they moved him from 2B to the outfield, but I don't remember him saying he wanted to bat leadoff.

I did an extensive google search of Soriano leadoff and turned up things on both sides. Some stories say he doesn't care and have quotes from him saying the same. Some say that when Lou thinks about dropping him Soriano has another fit. It seems to me that in the Cubs lineup he could be an MVP candidate if he was hitting third, but maybe he doesn't want that.

Actually I like the linuep with him at the top and Fukodome hitting second as long as they are both producing. It gives us another leadoff combo at the bottom with Fontenot and Theriot in the 7/8 holes. They can set the table for Z to rake em home.

anywhere other than lead-off too. I can't remember where tho. Plus, weren't they talking about it on the broadcast last night as well?

on sportscenter yesterday or last night, I don't remember. But they noted that they would like him 3 holing but he didn't like it.

They also noted his productivity and not messing up something that works

I would like him in the 3 hole as well as everyone else but..... he could turn into a choker, maybe he likes to get up and get it out of the way. After all, after the 1st AB he's not leadoff anymore
