I keep waiting for them to show up in my account.

in year’s past, additional tickets to the BJC matches were offered. I haven’t received any emails about this - or have I just missed them in my junk/spam folder?

I saw a request for extra tickets yesterday. The sale starts on Monday.

Additional tickets for the Oklahoma match are $112.70 each? And the seats are far from desirable? I guess all of the athletic sports will be paying for Franklin’s buyout.

Franklin's next employer is going to be offsetting his PSU contract. We may not owe him anything after this year.

Rev share $ will keep going up and no athletic department has the extra 20 million laying around. So it's being generated by donations and ticket $

Last year, $36.38. This year, $112.70. More than tripled in price.
And rev share wasn't a thing last year it's definitely a factor. It's definitely not because they won again they didn't go up like that after the first 11 Titles

Most BJC matches were sellouts or close to it (16,000). I’ll be surprised if they sell 8-9,000 at these prices. Tickets, parking, gas, couple of hot dogs and Gatorades…..it will cost $300 for a dad to take his kid to the match. This is not the way to grow the sport.

The prices will be what the market decides. Selling 8 or 9K at those prices- I think you are low - still generates a lot more revenue than selling them undervalued. More likely they are going to sell 10k+ which will generate double the revenue.

This has nothing to do with growing the sport. The sport is one of the oldest sanctioned by the NCAA. Why do you think you are all of the sudden going to grow it in 2025 at the NCAA level?

BTW, the football team has raised prices way over 300 percent in the last decade. Are we killing interest in football? I didn’t think so.

PSU should generate as much revenue that they can. That is the best way to keep the program strong.

Alternatively, we can keep tickets at $10 so a couple extra kids that already are wrestling in their youth programs can come to watch the matches with their dads for the last few years the university sponsors wrestling before dropping it.

They are only selling the lower bowl for Oklahoma, at least as of now. I do not know what that capacity is. They did the same for Wyoming last year but that was a last minute move.
hopefully they will have upper level seats for the other two BJC duals at reasonable prices.

I have three kids that love wrestling and we try and hit a match at the BJC every year. So it will be nearly $500 to just walk in the door. Unfortunately it will not be happening this year.

Better a couple kids get to see a match than most of the people who sit
and act like they are at the opera!By

Since you are on a fixed income you should be happy that you can see the entire PSU wrestling schedule by subscribing to B1G+ and FLO. For less than a pair of tickets to the Oklahoma match and you can make your own popcorn. Plus you get to see a lot more great wrestling than just PSU and you can invite your wrestling grandchildren over for some quality time.

That is the future of growing wrestling. More content available to view. It may not be palatable to a certain generation, to which I belong, but that is the future.

I don't like popcorn! And at my age I'll be fortunate to make it through the season. And as corby2 said I'm a d*ck,that makes two of us, me and him.
