First that he will sign/enroll at State, and second that he will shine and even start. National Juco POY, national Juco passing records, and 6'4"or 6'5", not 5'8".

on Wallace, Liggins and Alford this year I am going to lose all confidence in Mullen as far as recruiting QBs. He has been the QB coach of 2 first round draft pick QBs and yet if we whiff on those I listed then the only guy he will have pulled in FOUR recruiting classes to really help us is Dak Prescott (Russell was already committed when DM got here). And I really don't care what some say here, its totally crazy to go into an SEC season with an offense that exposes your QB to taking hits and only have TWO on the entire roster. Its going to be great next season if by the end of next October Tyler's bum knee is acting up and Dak gets a concussion. Somebody tell me then we didn't need a third QB.

I do not understand why we went in with the idea we didn't need a qb this class.

It seems like the mindset was lets keep the 3 we have and get 1 next year which made no sense when you have a 3 year qb graduating and it looking like you had a spot open ...next year you are going to have one qb that started a lot of games returning so you bring one in then he is going to know he is going to be behind the 8ball and have to redshirt...

The only real qb you could say we went after this year was; wallace, liggins, alford, voytik, bench winston (no chance); bauta (no chance - or we slow played never offered him)

i am not really losing confidence, but at msu we need a qb no matter what every year...
you blame mullen, I am pointing my blame to les deserved or not...

that our chances with Liggins and Alford were slim and I just can't believe that when bowl practices started our entire staff was totally blindsided by Favre announcing he was transferring. There had been rumors of that for well over a month. Now with that as the backdrop WHY did we not offer Wallace until this past Tuesday?? Maybe we were waiting on grades to make sure he could get in this Spring, I don't know, but it seems if we had offered earlier we would probably already have him instead of having to fight Texas now in the 11th hour before he enrolls somewhere.

But he's expressed a desire to play in the SEC. Right now we still have a good shot.

mullen did well to keep russell after he was hired, he essentially had to re-recruit the kid.

i imagine its difficult to get a top level QB prospect to msu when we have a sophomore and a redshirt freshmen, both of whom were highly rated in HS. mullen is doing a great job, he will find a QB that fits what he wants. all this complaining does nothing.

GOD bless

Lets don't forget that Russell recommitted from MSU after Croom was fired. Then had a visit from one Steve Spurrier. Then committed to Dan Mullen.

Credit Croom for already having Russell attached to MSU, but Dan had to work to hold on to him.

Gone to Texas, an expression of circa 1835.

You did have a course in Mississippi history in middle school, no?

It wasn't history when you took the course ... it was called "current events" .....

I would think the allure of playing in the SEC versus the Big 12 would sway him to Vegas. We shall see. I think we get him.
