probably going to buy it this weekend or an Springfield XD9 Mod2. both are about the same price (reduced PX price and no tax). any opinions from owners of the 19?

I'm an XD guy but i do have a G22. I like my XDs better. I'm more accurate with them for some odd reason.
I have an xdm in 9mm, and I have only good things to say about it. One of my buddies bought a mod 2 in 9mm, and it's every bit as nice.
3" Sub in .40, 5" Tactical in 9mm, and 5.25" Competition in 9mm.
I love the Competition gun. Aside from some slack in the trigger, it's such a nice gun.
Only drawback to XD's is if you plan on replacing the stock sights. I replaced the stock sights on my Tactical and it is NOT an easy task. I recommend finding a good gunsmith who has done XD's in the past. Unlike Glocks, the stock sights on an XD are such a tight fit I've heard horror stories of people really screwing up their slides in trying to get sights off. I bought a tool to assist me, but had to had to freeze my slide for a day, greased the hell out of it and spend an hour slowly getting the front sights out.
