I have Hulu Live and love it. You probably want to go through the channel list to see if you’ll miss anything. Also, you can get a free one week trial, which would be a good idea. I did the trial, two days later, took all my crap to Spectrum and cut the cord and cancelled.

It's great for television shows.

The movie selection is pretty weak.

They are talking about the Hulu Live service and not the Hulu on demand part of it.

I tried it out and wasn't a fan. It was mainly due to the interface. I like SlingTV's interface the best out of all of the cord cutting options. I would try a free trial of all of them (SlingTV, Hulu Live, DirecTV Now, YouTube TV, PS Vue, and I think Spectrum might even have a streaming service now) before making a decision. I tried everyone of them but Spectrum and the interface and price of SlingTV is what I favored.

Some give more channels at a cost and most I believe have a DVR. Unfortunately, Disney screws up the main purpose of having a DVR for me and that is recording games on ESPN. I can't record anything on a Disney owned network. I don't know if it is like that for all of these options or not though. It use to not matter because I could watch Kentucky games on demand with the ESPN app like an hour after the game ends, but I don't think that is available anymore. Probably have to get the stupid ESPN+ service now.

Did the same as you /// Dropped Dish...
Bought three ROKU's... should have bought stock also... Got HULU+Live TV+Sports package $39 per month... Works for me....

You need to have a pretty good Internet connection.
And the menu system is not a thing like what you are used to... I don't surf anymore... I find something to watch and watch it... I watch much less 24 hour News.

I have HULU and Netflix. Netflix has more shows and movies than HULU. If you want to watch live TV you will need either HULU Live, Direct TV Now, Etc. I have Direct TV Now because I get a discount with my AT & T mobile phone package and if we are watching Direct TV on our phone it doesn't use data.

I have been looking into these as well as a replacement for Dish. It appears that some offer basically all of the sports channels that I get now. I have spectrum internet, so I don't think bandwith would be a problem. My biggest question is whether or not any of you have noticed buffering problems during big games of events where tons of people are watching the exact same thing. In other words, the internet speeds slow down because everyone around you is on line at the same time you are watching the game, etc.

I live in a rural area and I am sure my local cable internet isn't as fast as Spectrum and we have little if any problems. At any point in time we will have 3-4 TV's streaming in different rooms with at least 1 or 2 phones using wifi. I had more problems with Sling buffering than I have with Direct TV Now, Netflix or HULU buffering.

The only issue I have is after commercials I sometimes have a little stuttering effect (not sure why it randomly does it coming back from commercials). I just click back out of the channel and back in real quick and it stops. It sometimes fixes itself if I ignore it, but I don't want to miss any of the game so I don't try that.

I tried using the ESPN app and it sometimes works a little better, but it does it as well. I am guessing with so many UK fans watching in the Louisville area that it is the reason for the issue. My internet is 100 Mbps and shouldn't be a problem. I might try a free trial using a different email and try it with a different provider like Hulu for the next game and see if the issue persists. It isn't a huge issue and I can deal with it for the savings I get. It doesn't do it at all watching other stations or rarely with games that don't involve Kentucky.

I just dropped Dish for YouTubeTV. Wondering why I didn't do it years ago. Youtube has 66 channels, 22 of which are sports. So, for me, it's all I need. 4 ESPNs, Big10 network, SEC network, several Fox networks.

Costs me $40 a month. Dish was $140 a month. As long as you have a decent internet package, no reason not to switch.

YouTubeTV with Roku.

:100points:
Yep, forgot to add - I had just bought an Amazon Firestick for one of my television sets before I started researching which streaming service to go with. Picked Youtube, as I said - main things you have unlimited cloud dvr storage (for 9 months, though - it deletes after that), and 6 screens can be logged in at a time. Anyway, Youtube of course is owned by Google, and Amazon and Google are on the outs. So the Firestick doesn't work with youtubetv. Roku works great.

Ahhhhh, yeah, I don't have the live service.

Love Hulu.

One caveat about Hulu Live...

Research the **** out of it to be certain that your streaming device will support it. I just upgraded from Sling to Hulu Live and had to make some changes with equipment. Also be sure that your speed is great enough to avoid buffering.

It might be best to get a device with a wired connection. Most don't have an Ethernet port unless you spend a lot more though. I rarely have any issues streaming with just the streaming sticks, a Netgear Nighthawk wireless router, and 100 Mbps internet. I prefer using my Roku stick over the Fire TV stick since Amazon likes to block you from using content that is from a competitor. Roku seems to work with anything since they really aren't a content provider.

Apple TV > all the other stupid streaming devices. Not close.

Only if you just like throwing an extra $115 in the trash. You can do basically the exact same thing with a $35 Roku Streaming Stick as a $150 Apple TV. For $50 you can get a Roku 4K version that costs you $130 less than the 4K Apple version ($180). If you want to get a 4K Roku with Ethernet it still is $80 cheaper than the 4K Apple one. You have to get an older generation to make the prices closer to the new Roku's.

I guess if you spend a bunch of money on Apple products and want everything connected together than you don't have much choice. Cord cutting is about saving money though and do most people want to spend about 2 to 3 times the cost of a Roku for an Apple TV? For the difference in the 2 devices, you could basically get a year of Netflix or Hulu.

I have Hulu with live TV and love it. Saved me about $100 a month vs cable and I get everything I want. You can even set up favorites and it will automatically DVR them for you.

I bought Hulu on Black Friday. Haven’t used it yet, and don’t even know if I will. But at $12 for an entire year, it was still worth it.

They are starting to step it up with their original content too. Not as good as Netflix but they are getting there.

Although still a good deal, this Hulu version will have commercials and isn’t live, but you will still have a decent amount of content

switched over to Sprint for my cellphone last month and get HULU for free. Not HULU Live, there's a diff. Still, can't beat the price. As it is I got HULU, Netflix on Roku, and Dish, and thinking of dropping the dish.

I have YouTube TV. I like that it provides local channels and all the sports networks minus the SEC alternate channel. It’s heavy on cartoon networks. Aside from sports I watch two, maybe three other channels. I watch a lot of Netflix.

The only thing about Direct TV now as opposed to Youtube TV, Sling or Hulu Live is my girls can watch Direct TV now on their phones without using data.

Vast amounts of info folks....ty

Looks like there are, on average, 30 Million+ of us cutting a year these days.

Currently: Spectrum Gold + 400Mb hsd + voip about $170/mo.

Dropping cable will save us: over $116/month - streaming charges.

Just need to figure out which streaming service(s) to go with is going to be the challenge.

Appreciate your all's insight here...

Huge revenue loss to the cable/satellite companies.

GOOD!

Had ATT + Dtv for 3 years and got sick of their support, * how their pricing was NEVER correct - IDIOTS!!! and switched to Spectrum.

Thier HD is fantastic VS Dtv's imo.

Are the streaming co's HD quality comparable/noticeable +....?
