If so, does Vince's dad not remind you of how things probably went down for Cecil Newton? Ornett Howard is a snake.<div>
</div><div>That guy is working the phones for his son, taking him on "unofficial visits" to colleges while skipping school, etc. I know the show was written/filmed before the 2010 football season actually started, but it is almost uncanny the parallels you can see there.</div><div>
</div><div>All in all, great show. Only four episodes left (on DirecTV).</div><div>
</div><div>[Anyone think Coach leaves for Shane State?]</div>

it is so realistic at times about what it's like coaching and dealing with kids in a HS setting. Then of course, some stuff is really played up.

And the dad/Vince saga is dead-on with some players in how its being portrayed

I hope Vince gets his head on straight. I think this show is so accurate in so many different ways in depicting HS kids/athletes, coaches, families, and relationships.

You say only 4 episodes left(on direct tv)? Are you saying that there is a chance that the series may continue somewhere else??

Season 1 will be tough to beat. But Vince's dad even knows about Coach Taylor's interest in the college job... So, he's basically blackmailing him. Wonder how much blackmail goes on in recruiting?

my guess is that the drug lord is going to take out Vince for not paying him the money that was owed to him.

You can watch the whole season on sidereel.com. I'm only a few episodes in, but that's how I saw all of last season.

I meant that it has four more episodes on DirecTV, but the entire Season Five still will be on NBC this summer I guess. <div>
</div><div>How awesome was the scene where the college coach didn't talk "to the recruit" but "about the recruit and really close to him" so there was noinappropriatecontact? And I'll be honest, I can do without the Julie storyline of this last season.</div>

This is a must see if you're a fan of the show. After watching it you'll remember how much you loved the actual football games from the early seasons.<div>

My dad has watched it since the beginning and finally got me to watch it last season.

Also, Jeff Howie helped move my TV(that I took to summer school to watch FNL) when I moved out of Rice this summer.

I saw the guy who plays Landry tonight at a restaurant in Deep Ellum in Dallas. He is from Dallas so it is no big deal but it was funny that I just saw him and then came back to catch up on State stuff and saw this thread so thought I would add a random message that adds up to nothing.<div>
