thanking him for doing what he thought was right for MSU. Got a reply a couple of days later. So far, I'm impressed (not just because of the reply).

One was thanking him for hiring John Cohen, and the other was asking about whether State was going back to Saturday doubleheaders. He replied that he didn't see State doing that, but thanks for the idea and input.

I sent him an e-mail, congratulating him on the hire, and he replied in four minutes. He also remembered me, even though I have only met him once -- very impressive in contrast to the previous AD.

On another note, is there any way we can put a moratorium on the "but but but" replies?

You have to admit the double headers was good for the fans, but bad for the players. You can't expect your catcher to be behing the plate for 14 or 16 innings a day for 10 straight weeks. I was in high school when they made the change, so I can't remember if both games were 7 innings or if the first game was 9 and the second game was 7 innings. Also, the wear on your bull pen having two games in one day could cause some problems. It's one thing to do it during regionals or the conference tournament, but the entire season could be pretty taxing.
