  • Neither Russell or Favre led their teams to touchdowns in their respective 2-minute drills at the end of practice. Favre’s unit went four-and-out after a sack and three consecutive incomplete passes. Russell’s team stalled in the red zone with 30 seconds remaining on fourth-and-short.

I have never seen a so called "fan" to hope for a player to fail, quit, or just be terrible so he can say I told you so. Its really sad

Because it said a lot of good things that you must have missed. I was at the practice, you?</p>

gleefully pointing out Russell and Favre`s having a bad practice makes you look bad. I agree with most of what you post but Relf has secured his position and these two guys are OUR backups. Cut them some slack ...they are not a threat to you or Relf.

or anybody pointing out things like missed blocks, missed tackles, or dropped passes. Dont criticize our players when they miss 3's or when pitchers walk batters.

If we cant point out our players are making mistakes or not doing well- then why in the hell are we on here?

basing on opinion on anything Marcello or Locke writes is foolish. I was at practice tonight and, trust me, neither has a real eye for the game. Hell, they barely move and don't pay a whole lot of attention to what's happening on the field (though I did notice that Locke at least attempted to get a better angle).

All that said, Russell may have been marginally better, but he had better targets too. I was impressed with Hill, Carr and Lewis. Williams too. Elliot looked as good as I have seen him.

jackass out of yourself. CLedger makes a few nice points about TRussell having a decent day and you cant stand it. Like the Alabama game last year, Tyler had a nice drive against Alabamas first team D, that ended with a beautiful pass for a touchdown to Bumphis I believe, and the next drive, the WR slips down and the ball gets intercepted and you couldnt get on here quick enough and call him a turnover machine or something like that. WTF?

both works in progress. If Russell would move in the pocket, he has the arm to make the throws. I would venture to say overall, he is one of the best pure passers we have had in a very long time. He just has a very hard time stepping up in the pocket, therefore making it much harder on himself.<div>
</div><div>I wouldn't even say Russell had better targets, Favre was just chunking the ball... the entire time. He was overthrowing guys, under throwing, throwing out in front of, and behind guys...He has the mobility, and his strongest asset is being able to make throws on the run (I've seen him do it... he just has to really work to develop that), but he was just chunking the ball all over the field last night. </div><div><div>

I remember people criticizing me for saying all Favre did is chunk the ball up for grabs in high school.

I just hope he learns to make better decisions if he starts for us.

I think Tyler will start over Dak next year just because of his experience, but I think Dak will beat out Favre. Prescott can make plays without the senseless turnovers and trying to be like, well, Brett Favre. Not to mention Dak can run the ball as well and he has the body to take a pounding.

I'll tell you something about Favre though- if I was John Cohen, I would try to see if I could talk him into walking on the baseball team. He has a good arm for sure and he is competitive. We could make him into a decent relief pitcher. I've seen Favre throw a football kind of submarine style goofing off and his pitching mechanics were actually pretty good. I would probably try to see if he can pitch overhand first, though. I'm pretty sure he played baseball in high school, so I think he could pick it up pretty quickly.
