Anyone noticed that Paps doesn't throw quite as hard as he used too? I noticed it

while watching him last night. His fastball is topping out at 91-92 and occasionally 93 mph. A couple of years ago or so he was consistently 94-96 and would occasionally hit 97 or 98. He's still good but this has to be of some concern to the BoSox. I guess some of the arm troubles he's had has affected his velocity.

They were talking about it last night. They were saying he's forfeited some of his velocity for accuracy. If you noticed, he was pinpoint last night.

he can still reach back and blow by the high heat at 97 and does often, but these are very important situations so he is going for pinpoint control, and thats where its hitting 92-94.
not to mention he has been used heavily this series, he threw 2 very crucial innings in game 5 and has been used in almost every game in both alcs and alds.
