Anyone realize Trey Rutland played baseball for J-State?

It was ashame Juan Long (LB early 90s) did not play baseball for State. He was fairly good when he played for Tupelo. I played 1B. Juan was a left handed hitter. One night, we were playing Tupelo, he hit one that I heard go over my head but did not see until I turned to see it disappearing into the night. If I had to guess. I imagine that ball landed somewhere in TN.

Todd Jordan was on that same Tupelo team. He was an opposing figure on the mound. However, only threw in the mid-80s.

Russell Copeland (played FB at Memphis St.) was on the team too. That dude probably could have played professionally. Fast as lightning, he ran down everything in the outfield and had an arm. He could hit too.

I suspect it's always been that way. Especially the black guys. In our little league system, all the black dudes who made the all star teams just seemed to quit playing after 8th grade. Never understood that, guessed they just liked football better.
