Anyone remember the last MSU/USM meeting in 1990

A particular poor Rocky Felker team beat a certain future hall of famer QB....don't remember the score but remember USM had a awfully good QB.

Kinda amazing we lost to USM when we were good and beat them when we're sorry.

We lost to them when we were good because they had a damn good coach back then. When Bobby Collins left to go to SMU, USM became a lot more beatable in football.

I think we won the game on a kickoff return for a touchdown after Brett had thrown a touchdown pass with a minute or so on the clock to give USM the lead again.

I also remember lots of MSU students getting taken out by numerous branches of police (city, state, county, and national guard) and said police getting bathed in cups of coke.

Heck, I missed the game in 90, so it might have happened then, too.

got our tickets from a Southern fan, so we were sitting with them. Pissed me at the time but we won. Incidently, when we got that kickoff I was at an angle to see the runback hole. "Wide a$$ open" is what I think I yelled.

'89 we won on the Jerry Bouldin kickoff return at USM to win by 3.

'90 we won on a late 4thQ FG to break a tie score and win by 3 in Starkville.

Both games were back and forth barn-burners.

The FSU chant at The Rock was pretty cool. They did it to us, having beat FSU. So we did it right back when we beat them.

This just in. I'm and idiot. It was the 1986 game I can distinctly remember the day and not the game. 1990 -- can't remember the day or the game.
