Anyone think Jeff Bower might be interested in being our DC?

when you are an offensive coach and you are known for your defensive teams, I sure don't want you to be our DC.
of what someone said in another thread......MSU fans not knowing who the hot young coaches are (Manny Diaz for example) and have that tunnel vision of old, retread coaches....

how are people supposed to know who up and coming coaches are? Name me the OC for Houston without looking it up. Like HD6 said, I had no idea who Dan Mullen was before fall of 2008.
But for the sake of conversation, if we did, I'd go after Tommy West. He's been a DC in the past and knows the recruiting area well.
However, I couldn't imagine him putting up with somebody Mullen's age staying on his *** after being a HC for so long. He'd never take (be offered) the job and if he (we) did, they would be butting heads from day 1.
I guess my point is, old retread coaches probably won't mesh well with Mullen. We need to avoid those types.
We need to ride the Diaz train a few seasons before he's a hot commodity nation-wide or Miami calls him home.

as has been said already, he was an Offensive guy. putting that aside, he he also had the tendency to let his DC's go into prevent defense around the start of the third quarter if they had the lead. screw that mindset.
thread hijack - There were multiple people on here bashing USM for letting the guy go and saying they were crazy and that he would be picked up by someone soon because he was a good coach. Where are those folks now? Bower's name hasn't come up in many conversations for jobs and it is of no real surprise.

Bower is an offensive guy. Not a very good one at that. Why the hell would he be a good DC? Damn</p>
