Anyone think we will get 40K for the spring game?

I just can't imagine it but I also never thought I would see so much excitement around a team that went 5-7 either. I am thinking we get 28-30K depending on the weather.

what do we get for a normal game of State folks? When we have 55K+, I think we max out at 45K.

So 40K will completely shock me.

We might get 35k if its a good weather weekend... but I agree..considering we SOLD 41k season tickets last year in all...and cant really bump that more than about 1-2k more in a season...
i just dont see that many people showing up that usually dont but tickets...cause all the season ticket holders wont be coming..

I'll do my part...+1 from texas

but I personally see at most between 35k-40k. I think we will settle around the same figure as last spring. But then again we did perform above most everyone's expectations last season so who knows...

Last year the weather kept a lot of people from going. I think if it's nice this year, people will be there. I think a lot of folks want to see the Relf/Russell battle and get excited about the offense, so again, if the weather's good, I think we can beat last year.

We havea chance to go 6-6 and get a bowl, big deal. I just don't see us doing any better than that. We haveun-proven QB's and RB's on the offense. We do have agood coach in Mullen, but no way we have more than 35K.

It's Super Bulldog Weekend. I don't understand why Ole Miss doesn't make it coincide with a home baseball series. It's stupid not to.

Super Bulldog Weekend will always have a baseball game centered around it...

For Um not to do the same IS STUPID.

coincides with Double Decker but to not have a baseball weekend with it doesn't make sense.

We did not just break it. We shattered it. And yes, a bowl is a big deal at MSU....any bowl.

which they don't want, as people would stay on campus, plus hotels, etc. are all booked. No other home series between April 2 and May 7, so it couldn't work out.

The coaches obviously have a spring schedule, and they don't want to have to shift the game more than one of a couple weeks.

The UT series this past weekend was the only other home baseball series we have in April outside of the LSU baseball series. The only possible dates were April 3, April 24, and May 8 if you were going to put it with a baseball series. The first date is too early. The last one is too late.

They tried to schedule it the same weekend as the LSU baseball series, which is also Double Decker weekend, but the city requested that they move the spring game to another weekend, so they are playing it a week earlier now. That would've made for an epic weekend having LSU in town along with the spring game and Double Decker, but it won't happen.

I believe the city wanted to space out some of the crowds to try to have more than one big weekend in the spring, and the school obliged. We won't have a big spring game crowd because of that. Personally, I don't like spring games that much, and the only time I ever attend is if it's a baseball weekend, so I won't be attending this year.

There was no year 0. The calendar goes directly from 1 BC to 1 AD (or 1 BCE and 1 CE if you want to get all politically correct about it). The first Century was years 1-100, the second years 101-200, etc. Same for the Milleniums, the first was 1-1000, the second from 1001-2000.

If you want to confuse things even further, most scholars believe Jesus was actually born sometime between 4 BC and 7 BC anyway.

A little excitement, but nothing crazy, we were 5-7 last year. It's not like we just went to back to back Cotton bowls.

Would you say that a certain school that did go to back to back Cotton Bowls has more excitement surrounding it thansay ateam that stomped a mudhole in them to end the season? I don't think so.

We actually won the final game of the millenium! Of course we haven't had a winning season in the current millenium though. Damn! Hope we don't have to wait another 991 years.

And I don't see how you have any trueexcitement until there's actually a 17ing reason to get excited, like a winning record for instance. Oh yeah, I forgot, we beat Ole Miss. That's always been enough in Bulldog fantasyland.

And for the record, I'm not down on Mullen or his program. I still genuinely think he "can" do great things, He just hasn't done anything yet, just as the program hasn't done anything in a decade. Of course, I AMcoming from the "I don't give a **** that we beat Ole Miss" camp, so my opinion is skewed.

I could've sworn we went 8-5 in 2007.

There's a lot of wrong in this thread.

I just don't understand this "excitement" over a losing record. Let's actually see something on the field to get excited about, like a winning record and a few wins against the LSU's andFlorida's of the SEC...

a lot of us ARE excited because for the first time since 2000, we actually saw ateam on the field and a coaching staff that looks like it has the potention to develop into a pretty damn good football program. If you can't see the improvement, you're blind.

Regardless of the win/loss record last year, we took some of the top teams in the country to the wire. Some posters try to be cool by dismissing the Egg Bowl win but the fact is that we ended the year by stomping a team that won 9 games and won the Cotton Bowl. There is probably more excitement coming into this season than any year since we were "Rose Bowl bound." Hopefully we will have a better result this time.
Oh, and hell yes any bowl is cause for excitement at MSU.
