Anyone want demarcus cousins number?

I've been saying all along that this game is the one where Jarvis is going to either make a lot of money or lose a lot.
Cousins is the type of inside player Jarvis will see in the NBA every night. There are no Terrance Henrys or Murphy Holloways posting up against a 5 in the NBA. He's going to have to go up against stronger guys that have the ability to go right at him. Shot blocking is a little more difficult when that's what you deal with.
If you go man, I'll be curious to see how well he handles Cousins. I'm with you in thinking it's a bad match up for JV. If he proves he can handle it though, he'll rocket up the draft board.

He, and I'm sure the rest of us are the same way, was very concerned with Jarvis getting in early foul trouble, and he continued to mention Cousins. Never mentioned Patterson, but said Cousins will be the big challenge, which is probably true. Jarvis has done a fantastic job of staying out of foul trouble this year, but if he has to sit early because of fouls, we might be in big trouble.
shoot it outside so Kodi may guard him and JV takes Patterson down in the post.........Either way, if JV gets in foul trouble we will be humiliated on national t.v.........
our only chance with him is to make Barry, Bost, or even Osby try to get him in foul trouble. If we get him in foul trouble, hopefully he will get pissed like he did last night and go 1-8 from the free throw line.
Just for clarification, I know the guy who sent Cousins that message and it said "Only five points tonight? Jarvis is going to run a train on your ***". He told us he sent it after the fact, and we all told him he was an idiot for doing it. Cousins then called and asked who it was, and he hung up. Not that big of a deal, but I'd rather not piss this guy off like Charles Rhodes did to that big guy on Memphis' team a couple of years ago.
against these two guys in different ways. He needs to move them around and just see what works. Maybe have them all three in at some point. Who knows. Has anyone tried to call cousins.
i don't like the varnado cousins match up one bit. varnado has played well against kentucky the last couple years (17 blocks, 24 rebounds, only 16 points in two games). he needs to use his power moves on offense. they're really not that bad, but just opts to shoot other shots. get cousins in foul trouble.
also, kentucky has only had 5 road games on the year. they beat indiana by 17, beat florida by 12, beat auburn by 5, lost to south carolina by 6, and beat lsu really bad.
for their neutral site games, they beat cleveland state really bad, beat stanford in overtime, and beat uconn by 3.
none of those teams are that good. florida, uconn and south carolina are all alright, but it's questionable whether any of them will make the tournament. if we're playing well, we can play a lot better than those teams. that's my only solace

Just have to be beasts on Tuesday. Everyone in this thread made a good point. We have to let Riek and Lewis get some fouls, and we have to mix in a zone. I would like to see us press them and force them into some quick bad shots ala our 2010 MSU basketball team.
It is terrifying playing a 2-3 zone against two very capable big men. Patterson is a veteran now with a good head on his shoulders and is a great passer. With him flashing to the FT line and playing a high-low game with Cousins, any defender would be in trouble. I want to see us play a zone when Patterson takes a breather, and otherwise we will probably be in a man because it is Stansbury. Kodi and Romero will be fine against Patterson I believe, but we're gonna need some Kentucky/Duke-like home cooking from the officials with Jarvis guarding Cousins.
Maybe Rick will use some of his timeouts in the first half and let Jarvis breathe a little. He did not call a single TO in the first half of Thursday's game.

For real???? You all really think that M State can beat Kentucky. I highly doubt it! Big Cuz has matured alot and you all will not get to him. He has learned his lessons.
