what absolute ********. No way in hell that USC's embarassing loss to Oregon State should leave them above Auburn or UGA's loss to a top 5 team. Proof polls are useless.

Oklahoma and Missouri are going undefeated until the Big 12 championship game when they play each other. BYU will be undefeated as well. Obviously LSU or Alabama is gonna have at least one loss and whichever one wins their game will play a good team in the SEC championship game.

Lots of football left to play, I have a feeling someone is gonna sneak in an upset on both Bama and LSU outside of their game together. LSU hasn't impressed me at all against Auburn and MSU.OleMiss might beat them.

I see the Big 12 champ and BYU in the BCS bowl, with every SEC team having at least 1 loss, probably 2.

Why do you not hear Bronco Mendenhall not ever thought of as a possible replacement for a head coach at a larger university? BYU finished around 14-16th place in the last two polls and is in the top ten now. AT BYU! Hell there is even some sort of rule there that you cant recruit a mormon directly while they are on that mission trip they have to go on. But any other university can.

He didn't even attend school there. He went to school at Oregon State. Plus he is making a whopping 650,000 to coach there. I think he would consider nearly tripling his salary to move away from Utah.

1.) I'm not so sure that Alabama deserves all the number one votes they got.

2.) Ole Miss is getting votes to make it in.

Many connections to BYU. Lives in the town he grew up in. And coaching at BYU is the ultimate for a Mormon. Just like coaching at Notre Dame is the ultimate for a devout Catholic. And you have to be a devout Mormon to be the HC at BYU. That is one thing they make sure of before they hire you.

a 1.1 mil raise per year at minimum wouldn't entice him to leave his hometown. A 1.1 million raise and proof that you are given... no matter how ignorant a coach is and how much he screws up he gets 5 years to draw a check.

He went to Oregon State to attend college. He got both his bachelors and masters from there. If he was so hell bent on staying around.. why not study at BYU? It would be foolish to think he wouldn't at least give it some serious thought.

I love the south and hate cold winters and gravel roads, but triple my salary and I'm on a plane to North Freaking Dakota for a few years if someone calls.

is why State will never have a winning football program. There are too many people with your mindset.

Rich Rodriguez left his "dream job" for a big raise. There are tons of examples of this.

there are many examples of people leaving such situations like Rich Rod. However, I am saying that someone coaching at BYU is a special case. It is a different mindset than someone coaching at their alma mater.

so this is the reason why? damn, i always thought it was the mediocre recruiting, lack of player development, lack of a playable offense, lack of an Oline, lack of a damn QB, and lack of a HC with an ability to change/adapt when clearly needed.

but apparently none of those are the reason.

leads to the reasons you referred to. A lot of the Gene's page heros will tell you that we are damn lucky to have Croom and that all we need is a small adjustment where Alabama, TN, LSU, Fla, AU, UGA, etc, would have thrown him out on his head 2 years ago. Keeping the dipshit around because "we are lowly MSU and should just be proud of what we have" leads to.....mediocre recruiting, lack of player development, lack of a playable offense, lack of an Oline, lack of a damn QB, and lack of a HC with an ability to change/adapt when clearly needed.
