AP Poll vs ESPN/USA Poll

State has 61 votes from AP. And only 6 votes from ESPN/USA Today Poll. I don't remember ever seeing a difference that great between the two. Someone might have already brought this up earlier, if not......

Yeah, but I've seen disparities like that before. Also, those are points, not overall number of votes, so it's possible that just a couple of people ranked us fairly high for some reason while the votes in the other poll were all barely in. Also, the AP awards a little over twice as many points roughly, so you would expect some kind of variance. For instance, #1 Texas has over 1,600 points in the AP and under 800 in the ESPN.

Thanks for explaining that. Has it always been that way? Seems like it used to be votes and not points....When was this modification if there was one?
