First time in history one conference has 4 of the top 5. Much less one division.

FSU may lose at Louisville in a week and a half. If not, they will get a rude awakening from someone in the West on New Year's Day.

The SEC is getting one and only one team in the playoff. You heard it here first.

Let's win in Atlanta and be that team.

That's how I feel too. It'd take something really unusual to get two SEC teams in with the committee. If we and Auburn both won out, or if Ole Miss and Bama both won out, we'd have a good chance at two teams. Otherwise, I think it's just one. We need to start pulling for all one loss teams to lose as much as possible to make it more likely for a second SEC team to make it. If the playoff was based on the top 4 in BCS standings, I think we'd definitely have two SEC teams, and it'd likely be the winner of the Egg Bowl and the winner of the Iron Bowl

That's wishful thinking...

FSU is REALLY good. Their only real weakness is inconsistent play in their OL interior. When they give JW time, their offense is nearly impossible to stop. If you can get pressure inside, you have a shot. If not, they're gonna score more than half the time they have the ball.

I'd rather just win our games and be done with it. I do not want to face Auburn or anybody else for a second time. I'll let you look up the stats on how most rematches go, when the teams are similarly matched. Besides, if we lose a game, we won't be going to the playoff anyway. We must be undefeated to make it. Neither us or Ole Miss scheduled up like the others, plus we just don't have the muscle/history/draw to get it done unless there is massive chaos, like everyone have 2 losses but us.

The only possibility of a second team getting in is if it's a 1-loss Alabama or Auburn. This is assuming that the Egg Bowl winner does in fact beat Georgia in Atlanta.

They sort of have to. Until we get enough cross pollination during the year, I would argue that we NEED to make it 4 teams from 4 different conferences. At least we'd know. Head to head should really play a big part in my opinion. If the top 3 are MSU, FSU and Oregon.....then I do not think Michigan State should get consideration unless there just isn't someone else that is equally qualified.

Looking back to 2011, I know most everybody figured that LSU and Alabama were the best, but we didn't have concrete evidence. We DID know that LSU had already beaten Alabama. I wish someone else had gotten a chance to test the SEC team, instead of the bore fest that we got. If Boise hadn't choked, that would have been perfect.
