I would think an elite PG would jump on board right now. With Allen and Jones gone next year the guards most likely are just Frank and Luke. Big minutes for a Stud PG available. He isn't "considering" Duke until he knows Marquese leaves. On the flip side, Duval put Duke in his top 5 and I can pretty much say with some certainty that it won't happen. Bamba has a much better shot at being at Duke.
I can live with that.
And I still feel with Bamba we are in a win/win situation. I REALLY like Bamba and what he would bring, but if the alternative is a sophomore Bolden I will gladly take it. The only way we lose here is if Bolden goes pro this year and we don't land Bamba. We are in great shape with the other 2 scenarios.
Duval recently mentioned that once he transferred schools, he texts/talks with Capel all the time. We desperately need a PG next year, Duval is far and away the best one, and our only other option, Matt Coleman, is ranked 32nd in a pretty weak class. Not sure why you think that all adds up to 'some certainty' that Duval isn't an option for us, I'd say just the opposite.Duval put Duke in his top 5 and I can pretty much say with some certainty that it won't happen.
Talking to a coach does not mean anything other than interest on both sides. Which has always been there. Watching what a recruit does is far more important in deciphering the level of interest. Right now Duval is a long shot. Coleman is not.Duval recently mentioned that once he transferred schools, he texts/talks with Capel all the time. I agree that he won't go to Duke.
Coleman is the guy most seem to think "might" go to Duke. Crystal Ball is at 42% but I feel he's definitely a Texas lean.
And THR logic would say that since we will have a bunch of playing time at PG next year that there are zero reasons that make sense for Coleman to choose anywhere but Duke. If he goes to Texas, then there's proof Shaka is dirty.I don't know if lean is the right term. I think he has a great relationship with Shaka. That is of course a factor. He really likes Duke.

LineSkiCat here. Soooo many dbags at RR. He WANTS us to feel terrible about the loss even though we don't. And he tries to give a little slam to Bolden. Losing him to Duke is still killing those idiots.
"1. Of course you care about going undefeated.
2. You do care about losing that game, and giving Kentucky the #1 ranking for probably three weeks minimum. Stop.
3. Never ever ever whine about calls or fouling out. Kansas had plenty of bad calls go their way. Slapping the ball out T? you see that almost every game.
4. You have a second string that we've been told is still top25 (lol). You still had talented reserves, Jefferson back, typical Duke floppers/doitchbags in Allen and Kennard. While it's huge to be missing Giles, Tatum and Bolden (lmao that he's a "key" freshman, OK, right), they are still freshman. We've seen ours struggle. Tatum and Giles will struggle as well.
5. Frank Jackson playing about as best you could expect in the early going.
5. This loss absolutely matters. This was supposed to be the best team in a decade. If other teams continue to win big, then the battle for Overall #1 seeds gets tight. You need every win.
That said, I would not be one bit surprised to see Duke bumped up HUGE come selection sunday because they have Giles back. You better believe a team maybe worth a #3 seed would be given a #1 just for that. Calling it now."
I don't think coleman is good enough where you don't recruit duval of there is a chance of him coming here. Plus with the guys we are going to lose playing time will be available next yearI don't know if lean is the right term. I think he has a great relationship with Shaka. That is of course a factor. He has us in the top 5. I'm not saying we will get him but we have a shotAccording to Rivals it shows none for Duval in regards to his interest in Duke

My impression was that your original post about 'some certainty' implied you had some insider knowledge. Since none of us do, it's a bit of a pet peeve when posters imply that they do. If what you're saying is that some of the potential baggage associated with Duval makes it unlikely that he'll pick Duke (or vice versa), that's a fair opinion. I just happen to think Duke will do whatever it can to make it work.I'm also not saying anything about Duval's talent. Read my post above. There are dogs in this hunt than team needs
He does? I guess Rivals just hasn't updated it thenHe has us in the top 5. I'm not saying we will get him but we have a shot

Uh, Tre as in Tre Jones, or Trevon. Or is that too specific DH? Serious question, but messing with you too!
