the commercial was promoting no underage drinking, how the 17 do they expect students to be cool with that? If they would've made it not drinking and driving or something like that everybody would have thought it was hilarious.

I've always been an advocate for responsible drinking as opposed to intolerance to drinking. I've found that a lot of times when you tell people that they can NOT do something, it only makes them want to do it more, and thus makes things worse. On the other hand, if you treat it like it's no big deal to drink, and that drinking too much makes you look like a moron, I think that's more effective. I also will say as far as underaged drinking, that is the law, and anyone that is underage should know the consequences for what might happen if they are caught, just like any other law that anyone else might break.

I thought the commercial was cheesy, and I thought it was hilarious when the student section booed it, because it was poorly done, a blatant rip off that was poorly done, and also about an issue that is unpopular. Just like I would have booed a commercial about speeding.

I've always felt like with drinking, the focus should be on responsibility, and not intolerance.

And I don't drink very much at all personally.

I was happly seated in the student section, laughing at the commercial, and joining my cohorts in lustily booing the end of the commercial. I enjoyed every part of it. Also, I'm over 21.

I was on the west side and a couple of the gray-hairs where either laughing their *** off or booing. All in all i know it's the proper commercial to be run, but everyone knows no alcohol until 21 will never catch on.

I witnessed some tolerance. While waiting on someone after the game under the West stands, a guy is staggering drunk leaving the stadium. He has a discussion with a cop and I hear him say "but I'm not driving". And that's the end of the discussion. The guy just walks (staggers) away.

Tolerance...well, its the law. And one that is enforced. Not much room to be tolerant there. Not like driving 60 in a 55.

I thought it was stupid. To expect college kids, whatever their age, to not imbibe at all is being sort of pollyanna. I was a regular at the old Crossroadsa and LenLews back in the 60's and my quota was 5 quarts a sitting. Of course I didn't drive (no car anyway). Point is...college kids will drink. You just hope nothing bad happens to them or anyone else until they learn they cann't drink it faster that it can be made.

is thatapparently"the most interesting freshman" doesn't even go to school at State. I was told he goes to Southern. Not that any of this has anything to do with the discussion, just found that odd.
