Apparently Jim will be getting some help in the booth for baseball this year...

Or better yet, a day away from message boards asking "why is someone helping Jim do baseball?"</span></div>

Jim is great, but I think someone bringing some insight from the color position is badly needed. Very excited about this.

for baseball season to get here if for nothing else but just to listen to the games. Nothing seems to fill me with inner peace likelistening to Jim with the Diamond Dogs.

And nothing against Bart because I think he would do a great job if it is him, but I would like an ex-baseball player to be in the booth with Jim.

and that's what you hire any color guy to do---to study everything that does not get, and cannot be, included in telling the listener what's happening.

I always say this, but listening to Gary Darby do color for om is awesome. He is a former Ump I believe.

Bart will do a good job.

which makes me think about who we get. It would be awesome if we could get a former Bulldog great to do this. I realize this is highly unlikely, but it would be nice.

to emulate Jim...in the inflection in his voice and attempted sense of humor....almost like he's cloned himself. But he still may be good but probably not much contrast.

I have read Todd's comment on this year's team, what is your take on players for this year?

Nothing spectacular, but light years ahead of where we've been.

Im incredibly skeptical of our ability to field and score runs. No starters return at their respective positions in the infield.

People need to remember that last year was an overachievement but the run to the super was a bit of smoke and mirrors. We never saw one of tech's top 4 pitchers.

Scoring runs is going to be a problem. Part of me says "hey we only lost two guys in the lineup that were good" but the other part of me doesn't know what's left to drive in runs. I can easily see our sophs not taking the step they need to.

The sophs like Norris, Frazier, Renfroe, and Bradford have to take a huge step forward if we want to be a 2 seed somewhere.

In years past I have listened to Bart do Baseball broadcasts by himself while Jim was gone with Jack to do an away Basketball game somewhere. Don't get me wrong - I like me some Jim Ellis play by play baseball announcing - but, in my opinion, Bart does a little bit better job than Jim does because he always keeps you up to date on the game situation - you know, balls, strikes, outs, runner positions, next batter up, inning - all the basics but he does it more often than Jim does and it gives me a better picture of the game at any particular time that Jim does. I think Jim is one of the best I've ever heard and we are lucky to have him but Bart is just as good or better in my humble opinion. We would be lucky to have either one of them - to have both isterrific.
