Apparently Rob Jay is having a 2 part Tell-All interview with Renardo Sidney...

but I have to give him a little credit... he doesn't appear to be blaming anyone but himself which is the only person he should be blaming.

Good thing its not a Tell-All of what he had to eat that day. that would've stretched it to a four or five part interview.

makes me wonder if things might have been different if he hadn't had that suspension and didn't have a chance to fall off the wagon. Moot point on several counts though, I suppose.

"Just my mindset. I think I had an okay season my sophomore season but my last year I mean it just went up in flames," Sidney said. "I tried to come back but it was like the devil just had a hold of me. I couldn't do nothing. I couldn't get my game back right. I couldn't lose weight. I couldn't get my attitude right. Like I said I wasn't listening to nobody. Hard headed that's all it was."

He thinks he couldn't get his game back. He has his game back. Problem was his opponents at the college level were pretty damn good too. He never figured out that he had to work hard to stay better than his opponents.

....who has the God given ability and size to be a multi-multi millionaire. Yet after being given chance after chance, he squandered it. For everything that has happened, it's always somebody else's fault. He was out of shape when he first got to MSU. No way he would've been effective that first year. He should've used that time to lose a colossal amount of weight, but he didn't because he was moping. He always blames other people for his problems when all he had to do was slim down and have a good attitude.

This is a reflection of dear old Dad who decided he would ***** his son out and move to California to live the good life. Had they stayed put and Sidney worked hard, he would've been a national recruit from MS, could've gone anywhere and been a one and done and millionaire. Sidney Sr. would've had his money 2 years ago. Because of that California move, he'll never get it. It's really extremely sad.

but it might would have made a difference if he could have played the first year. I don't know how out of shape he was when he first came to Starkville, but if he had avoided any major blowups and generally gotten better as the season went on, there may have been a team dumb enough to take him out of the hope that a 19 year old kid could be taught and he had enough talent to take a risk on. Not sure people like that get picked up in the first round any more though, so he still wouldn't have had a guaranteed pay check.

Just depends on how much worse his habits got during that year off. I'm sure they got worse, but that doesn't mean they weren't already bad enough to prevent him from getting a shot in the NBA.

Rick stated in the press that the first Thanksgiving weekend that Renardo was in Starkville he gained 20+ lbs. In the end all we got was an overweight underachiever.

...MSU/Stansbury tried the Renardo Sidney experiment & it proved to be an abysmal failure.

I don't think anybody associated with MSU wants to have to re-live it again via some unnecessary interview.

All I want to hear from this guy is he is moving 2,000 miles away from Starkville & promises never to return.
