keep them running. It amazes me how a paper can let deadbeat ideological columnists run a paper into the ground. Readership preference be damned! Let's push our agenda!

Um, you know the Chicago Tribune has historically been a Republican newspaper?

From Wikipedia:
In 2004, the Tribune endorsed President Bush for re-election, a decision consistent with its longstanding support for the Republican Party. On October 17, 2008, the paper made an endorsement that the paper admitted "makes some history for the Chicago Tribune." For the first time in its 161-year history, the Chicago Tribune endorsed a Democratic Party's nominee for president with its backing of Barack Obama's election bid.[65]

The Tribune has previously backed independent candidates. In 1872, it supported Horace Greeley, a former Republican Party newspaper editor,[66] and in 1912 the paper endorsed Theodore Roosevelt, who ran on the Progressive Party slate against Republican President William Howard Taft.

Well forgive me for saying that it is a liberal knob polishing paper... oh wait... I didn't. What I said is that all the so called writers for the Tribune writes absolute crap and pushes their own personal agendas over a readership that doesn't give a damn about it and it is killing the paper. Effectively running a paper just like a storeowner that says "You don't like what I have? Well then go somewhere else"

I had figured as much but considering your Fresh President of Bel Air avatar, I wanted to be sure.

BTW, I don't believe it's the writers-- newspaper publishers are having difficulties dealing with the Internet and subscriptions have decreased as well as the recession that's affected advertising revenue.
