My daughter told me she heard at school that the send off is at 9:15 Sat morning. Nothing offical yet though. Pretty good crowd last year.

I have some information for you about the State Championship Football game on Saturday Dec. 10th.
The Raider football team will be leaving ACHS at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. Sherriff Letterman, Appomattox Volunteer Fire Dept., Pamplin Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Appomattox Rescue Squad will be escorting the team from the high school to the Appomattox/Campbell County lines. Anyone who wishes to send the team off along the departure route should start lining up off on Confederate Blvd. near Redfields Rd. up to Farmer’s Bank before 9:00 a.m. as the buses should be coming from ACHS along Evergreen Ave. to Redfields Rd. People can also line up along Rte. 460 West heading out of Appomattox.
Game time is 4:30 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 10th. Game will be held at Salem Stadium located at 1008 Texas Street in Salem. Appomattox will be the home team so fans will be sitting on the west side of the field. Noise makers, like clappers and thunder-sticks, are allowed in the game. Stadium seats, blankets and signs are allowed in the stadium. Outside food and drinks are not allowed.
ACPS is extremely proud of the Football Team and wish them the best of luck in the game. Go RAIDERS!!!!

Last year the fire trucks escorted the team to the county line, then Concord took them out to Lynchburg. Great seeing the neighboring county cheering them on!

Giles has always done that too. Awesome experience for the team and fans. Good luck to both teams. I'll be in Williamsburg for the weekend with grandkids and plan to take my grandson to see Blacksburg-Staunton River. Will be interesting to see how they run the wing.
I understand the lynchburg police picked them up at the city line and escorted them to Bedford last year also!!
Send offs rock!! We even picked em back up when they came home last year at the county line and brought them home in championship style.
Sorry your going to have to miss the appo game but I fully understand other commitments. Hate when that happens. However, please keep us posted on that game as well it's going to be a great game and I wish I could see that one as well.
Not sure about Lynchburg police, campbell county took them to bedford and bedford took them to Roanoke. That was very cool and a neat gesture from all of our neighboring counties.
they are cool but we still had complaints from people in town. i was talking to a deputy and wedecided some people just like to complain lol
Well it was like one in the morning lol with sirens and horns blaring. I think they got over it and if not then oh well!!
Anyone complaining about police escort needs to get a life. A state championship is often a once in a lifetime accomplishment.

I would like to say good luck to the appomattox raiders today as they play in the championship game , you have made this former alum very proud and your community proud, play the game with deginty and class like you have , hope all the fans conducts them selves with class , hope for a injury free game and bring that trophy home !! Good luck to Appomattox today. I have been talking with a lot of Goochland fans all week and especially this morning, they are pulling for you guys. Your community, school, coaches, and players made a big impression on all of us last week. That says a lot about your sportsmanship, character, and class. Bring back another title back to the old Region B.

The over all Goochland fan base was impressed and many have stopped me around town this morning talking about tuning in to watch or listen to you guys online. Only a few homers from Goochland got on the message boards and made the rest of our community look bad. Before last week, there were only 3 Bulldog fans on the boards, Chapel Hill, G-Dog, and me and we only talk facts and not bash or talk trash. The other ones just made their accounts this year and sounded like they had no clue on the boards and only came to talk trash. The real Bulldog fans are not like that and support our guys and they let the games play out on the field.
Good luck today and we should look into playing you guys in the future. Much closer trip to Appo than it is to 3 of our regular district games.
