He makes so much from legit third party deals that he may mot be taking much of a pay cut at all. This is what a lot of schools should do with their well known players: help them find legit third party money and pay them less directly.

I couldn't really tell from the article what Arch was giving up, though. The beginning of the article said he was giving up "direct payments" from the school, which I took to mean the revenue sharing money. It goes on to say Texas has the highest pool of money in the nation, which would include their collective.
