I know its not to the end of recruiting yet, but with all of the negative thats been around the talent of our class, we still could end up with a Top 20 class on signing day. Getting 3 out of Robinson/Eatmon, Thompson, Brunetti would be a great ending for us.

that we'll get to see what Balis can do with a body like his. 6'6" 260 (listed at 240, but weighed 258 on visit). Put him in the weight room and on the training table and this guy should become a physical specimen that we aren't used to having around.

I'd much rather have a guy like this (remember Kent Hull) than a high school kid that is 6'3" 340 that you have to take 60 pounds of fat off and put 30 pounds of muscle back on.

Bama has been hard after Taurice King since the AL-MS all-star game. He's had us at the top for a while and has even denied visits to Bama.

I think this weekend we could get King and Humphrey - no source, just a hunch.

follow that with any of Brunetti, Thompson, Sanders, Robinson, Eatmon... could be sheepish, but looking like a stout class.

I know highlight videos don't tell you everything about the player but this guy is bulldozing over D-lineman. With some weight added to his frame he could be a freak

Addison Lawrence was listed by scout.com as 6'4" 250 lbs on his recruiting profile. He started last year on the OL at 295 (listed weight). He will probably be a 3-year starter. They are probably thinking the same thing with Muniz. If he is a good athlete, has good feet, and his frame can carry more weight, then they will bulk him up. Not a big deal. Lots of NFL caliber offensive tackles enter college as tight ends or undersized tackles (Robert Gallery, D'Brickashaw Ferguson for example).

Now lets get Robinson and Thompson. I hope we can get both of those players to join this class. And just assuming Robinson opts to go elsewhere, this Muniz pickup got that much bigger.

those numbers are a year old, he's 265 and growing, and has been committed to Utah. So he appears to be a solid OL pickup.

The word on King is that his slot was filled when we picked up the LB out of Mobile last weekend. As far as Bama being "hard after" him, King said in a recent interview that he hasn't heard anything from Bama since they verbally offered him at the MS/AL All-star game.

the lighter guys will have much better feet, so if you can add weight the right way in college (under a strength program) as opposed to the weight most big linemen gain in high school (not exactly strength), you will do better in the long run. i'm not saying 240 is ideal, but i think it's a good thing, if he has the frame. and at 6'5" or 6'6", you definitely have room to add the weight. not to mention that most linemen will redshirt anyway, so there's a whole year to add weight before he plays.

i would add eric winston to your list. he was a highly rated TE out of HS, and left as one of the best LTs in the college game at the time. injuries haven't helped his career, but his production in college was great.

Had good offers, including Utah and Ok. State.

He will be 6'6/290 after a redshirt year and stronger (Which is scary because he was consistently knocking folks on their backs playing big time Texas football.)

But we moved up to 26th, and are only 3 points behind Ohio St for the 25th position. I think we will close out strong, and we should have a Top 25 class, but I think we could end up with a Top 20 class.

We may already be in decent shape with what's on campus (balis and hevesy certainly turned the chicken **** line Croom left us with into chicken salad), but I'd feel a lot better if we stocked up on OL. Hopefully, a few of them will be ready to play as RS freshmen if our current backups aren't serviceable.

I love Mississippi State, but if any of my kids get a free ride to Stanford vs. Miss. State ..... off to Palo Alto, we go. I would really question his judgement if he picked us over Stanford.
