I had several Rebel fans confidently say they are better off without Kiffin, while another Rebel nods in agreement. Reasons cited are:
1. Lane has too much drama
2. He was looking to leave so we don't want him.
3. Golding is a football coach and that's all he cares about. He doesn't do anything but think about coaching 24/7.
4. Coaches don't need to be on social media.
5. Lane never even talked to players or knew their name.
6. He wasn't really even coaching the offense

The REAL recruiter on the staff was Billy Glasscock, who is already in Baton Rouge with Lane.

I saw today they are paying Golding $6.8 MM, with $100 K bumps each season. I really thought they would pay him $5 MM or less. Still, if it was going to cost them $13 MM to keep Lane, they are saving a ton.

Their future success will depend in large part on who replaces Glasscock. And continued NIL financing, of course.

They've basically been handed a bye. They'd be in real trouble if it was Notre Dame headed to Oxford instead of a team they beat by 40.

I can see them making the semis. Bad news for them is that they'll be convinced they can win with Golding. Their trip back toward the middle has already begun.

You left out, "you know who the real recruiter was on that staff, it wasn't Lane." Heard that one a couple of times. They're really convincing themselves they'll be better now that they've gotten rid of Lane.
When you get to that level your name does much of the recruiting. It’s why Lane was so good without even visiting prospects, and it’s why you can’t hire a no-name like Hutzler as your DC.

Did Golding get a 4-year contract?

Well. Who was it? Because LSU just signed a hell of a list of players in the early period for the new coach to be on campus a matter of days.

Fact:
All of these reasons are why he was such a good fit in Oxford.

The term sheet posted online said 5 years, which I dont think is legal no matter how you package it. But, yeah, he got at least a 4 year deal.
So I suppose he's as permanent as a coach can be that's not named Bear or Saban.

Meanwhile, FOUR of the assistants that Kiffin brought with him to Baton Rouge returned to Oxford basically on loan to coach Ole Miss through the CFP. Yet they couldn’t let Lane himself stick around because “it would be too big of a distraction”.

Again, adults should have been able to make adult decisions here to realize what was best for all parties.

To address the thread question, I know a few Ole Miss guys that are cool and I would hang out with in a social setting. But by far, their fan base has the highest ratio of effeminate men I’ve ever come across.

Kiffin had already been fired from one job for being a problem after taking another job.

om fans are a bunch of narcissistic losers that thrive on what people perceive of them and are always trying to outdo the other person, whether friends or rivals in sports and it’s never their fault and we never liked that person anyway or we’re better off without said whoever it is that just said I’m done with your stupid BS

That's the way their hive mind works. Nothing ever bad happens to them. They CANNOT admit defeat so they all pull in the same direction and spin the same propaganda.
