Are some fans so filled with hate for CMS

That they actually hope UK loses a game so it will make CMS lose his job? If this is true, UK's football TEAM, would likely be better served without your "support". I don't like the direction the season has taken but to hope for a loss is unbelievable.
Agree with you and also I am gonna say I don't think there is any reason for anyone to hate CMS!

Why I don't want to see UK lose, it isn't the end of the world if they do right now. Just like when BCG was coaching UK. Making the tournament would of only likely kept him at UK for another year. So I hoped they wouldn't make the tourney so we could pull the trigger. I've said it several times that either I want a crazy turnaround (7 or 8 wins) or a dumpster fire finish.

Don't hate the man but I do hate the fact that he and Barnhardt are making UK football historically bad, a laughing stock and unwatchable. Other than that, Stoops is ok by me.
Thanks Mitch.

A coach does not need your support when winning, its when losing that a coach needs your support!

Why would you dislike someone just because they haven't turned out to be the great coach we were all hoping for. That seems like a rather shallow way to determine if someone is worthy of being liked or not.

Think some of this disdain is coming from people who've lost some money to their bookie. If they want to hate somebody hate themselves for pissing away their cash.

I hope we win every game. Saying that, we aren't winning many. I do not hate, dislike, Mark Stoops. I do not know him personally. I do hate that he is doing a bad job coaching this team, I hate that the product he puts on the field is unwatchable. I hate that UK football is the laughingstock pf the country. Yes they are, did you watch Florida telecast? I hope he turns it around, if not I hope we get someone who will!

I see your point and I agree. I just think there's a little more to it. I don't ever want UK to lose at anything but please don't try to convince anyone that Stoops can get the job done. He's probably a decent person and I respect that but the fans that want to see UK compete know he has to go so they're trying to get the inevitable to get here as quickly as possible. The two things that would get him fired are empty seats and losses. That's why fans want the losses. UK made the man a multi millionaire so he surely won't feel bad when he walks out the door.

He will get blown out because he sucks. Our defense is so comically bad right now, Vandy will beat us by 28. TMFS.

Mitch better shut the hell up, find money and a REAL coach.

Unfortunately, we have an AD who has no idea what his coaches are doing and therefore, can't properly assess if they're on the right track. Not to mention, even when it's obvious to a novice, he doesn't have the sack to fire a guy for performance unless 2 things happens - it's absolutely dismal and the fans give up (i.e. attendance).

I know it's protocol to give your guy at least 3 years but in reality, Barney should have fired Clyde after the first year. He "effed up" royally and even an amateur could see that one. Clyde's treatment of the players was bordering abuse, he partied like a frat boy and was a complete asshat to deal with. Clyde had no redeeming qualities and the train was coming off the track. Yet, Barney gave him 2 years and only fired him because of the 2 reasons above.

It's pretty apparent Stoops is not the guy to get it done. He came in as a defensive mastermind and his defenses have been a joke. He hires spread, hurry up coordinators but micromanages their efforts; hence, bad offense. In year 4, his teams still have problems getting lined up correctly, the special teams are still totally disorganized and he's still blaming players.

But we have Barney and if Brainfart gets any hint that he may be able to sell the Stoops experiment for another year or 3, he's going to do this. We still get our SEC welfare check regardless so it's all about having a few excuses to justify keeping his "good guy" around.

There has to be no reasons for Barney to fall back on. Therefore, if you want Stoops gone (like when we knew Clyde had to go), you have to hope he loses.

I hope we win 6 or more but if we don't id rather go 1-11 and be forced to make a change than go through a season with a dead coach walking.

I was at the point of hoping for UK losses at the end of the Gillispie tenure simply because I knew he would destroy UK basketball if he made the tournament and stuck around for another year.

Now, I disliked Gillispie as a person. He was a POS drunk. I don't dislike Stoops as a person. Seems like a great guy and family man.

I don't believe he will succeed here as the head coach at this point. I believe a 4-8 season and a 5th year would do UK Football zero favors going forward.

So if you're asking if I'd rather we go 3-9 and Stoops be let go or go 4-8 and him return only to prolong the inevitable....I'll go with the 3-9 option. Simply because I want UK to get to the next level as a program.

Don't hate him.

But I really dislike him a whole lot.
Dislike/hate MS..NO...dislike/hate MS coaching ability..yes!! And make NO apologies for it. Just look what is going on at Otis. They are not willing "settle" for just being average something that was instilled in their program when Howard Schnellenberger was hired years ago and is carried on by todays current ad...with all due respect to op and others like our current ad this program will never go forward as long as are we are willing to only settle for being average...current and past ads have passed on coaches for "flaws" in their character or image...this must stop!

Typical that coaches get blame for things that go wrong, piss-poor D for instance, but no credit for adjustments made that work and I speak of Johnson's preparedness/play, adjustments in the OL installing Young at LT, Stenburg at LG, Bunchy at RG, Snell's play, Conrad's targeting, ST play(the true freshman punter average 47 yds per kick) plus finally a punt return for a TD. Yes, yes I know it was against NM St and not a SEC team. Human nature I guess, what did Calipari say? Haters going to hate.

I always had the feeling, right or wrong, that Joker was coasting. Didn't work especially hard. Was content to recruit against Toledo and Ball State because that was our place. Stoops is none of that. First, he actually wanted this job, although he has no ties. Wanted this to be his home, wanted to elevate this program. I get the impression he works his *** off, as does his staff. They recruit like we never have. Period.

So, no, absolutely no hatred (don't imagine I could actually hate someone I don't know anyway). Really hoped he was The One. But we're far enough into this that the outcome is pretty evident. If you can see the outcome already, the best course - what a real leader would do - is go ahead and rip the bandaid off. Move on. You're almost always better off in the long term, no matter how painful initially.

I am for whatever moves this program forward. If losing another fairly meaningless single game might force things, might propel people and actions to get us to a better place, then I'm for it.

Your post that seem to say that you are in agreement with hoping they lose seemed a little over the top negative even for you.
I don't hope they lose. I don't have a issue with stoops on a personal level. He's a horrible coach plain and simple.

I agree Stoops has not been a very efficient coach for sure but your post seem to imply that you wanted us to lose. Sorry for misunderstanding.

I would never hope for UK to lose any game and I don't know Coach Stoops so I can't say I hate him. However I don't like how it seems like we're never prepared to play a game. We do the same stuff over and over and that is on the coaching staff.

It's not "hate," it's business. And we need to be in the business of winning. Ohhhh. somebody said mean things about a man that stands to gain $12. mil for producing failure up to this point. :joy: Oh the horror!
I'm not as concerned about whether CMS is liked or not as I am about people hoping for the team to lose. These young men are giving all they can I believe and do not deserve that.
That's just piling on. They have a lot to contend with, school, learning new offense etc.. Do fans really not think they feel miserable about this start.
