I wonder about all of the money that has been poured into the program for the new lakeside training facility that was built to lure top recruits and bolster the program, and now construction of the new proposed stadium. I think criticism of the program is justified based on the disappointing results the program is experiencing. The difference post-Dark Ages administrations were supposedly a commitment for the athletics program to be competitive and match the level of success of the academic program. The commitment to have top notch facilities seems to be on course but the results demonstrate a program that is lagging behind changes in college sports as others have observed. I’m worried about the downward direction esp if we cannot be competitive on the field. Key injuries and maybe lack of depth may be a factor in the decline this year but don’t think 1-2 win seasons are sustainable, even with the new facilities bling.

College football today is far different than in the 80s and early 90s. Every program has money.

Wins and losses are key, but the real problem is just how bad we look. We aren’t losing close, well played games.
