Are TV cameras the problem?

Hadn't heard about this until now, so SIAP

So it looks like we've been having Showtime's cameras following us around all season in order to produce a short documentary.

I remember the last time we did this, ESPN's all-access, and it just happened to be 2013.. and that was just the preseason. It seems like every time Hard Knocks follows a football team, they have a terrible year. This says it's an "unprecedented behind the scenes look."

Could part of the problem be that the kids feel even more under the microscope than usual? That they have to manage their behavior for the cameras at all times? Does this lead to overthinking?

I can't believe we're doing this, and I just don't see where the positive is.

EDIT: looks like it's from the creators of a similar Showtime show, but this is indeed facebook. Either way, it's cameras following us around.

Doubt it's THE problem, but I'm sure it's not helping and a most certainly a distraction. I believe there's multiple problems.

I believe the last time was 2014-15 based on this:

Funny, I've never even HEARD of that one. I haven't seen it mentioned or publicized by UK, KSR, or anywhere. Strange. Even then, I think it'd be less of a distraction for a team with SOME experience (like that one), rather than the youngest team of all time.

Point very well taken,I have no idea how many(if any) of the current players are ready for the NBA but they clearly weren't ready to handle what they encountered at UK,a group this young was bound to hit a wall that will be tough for them to get thru or get over.Limiting distractions and trying to separate distraction from what is real should have been the first priority for whoever came up with this idea.

Yeah, we don't know those specifics.. It definitely seems like something that would impair bonding. Say, you wanna talk a little trash about your boss, or say something about a girl you met recently, or even just crack a dirty joke... no way if you're on camera. I feel like this may have contributed to our lack of cohesion this year. Couples with some less than alpha personalities, it feels like we still don't even know each other. Just a terrible idea to film a season in this way, IMO.

2014-2015 had already had a title game run. Those guys had been through the war together, and they understood each other by that point. So unfair to have this done to nearly all freshmen.

Its been done to death but this team with this many freshman on it definitely was the wrong season to do it. Now next year with some maybe coming back would have been good.
