Are we overlooking the Houston game?

Seems to me everyone... and I mean EVERYONE thinks the next two games are in the bag. I can understand that expectation against Alcorn. They deserve to get Danhandled and we deserve to be entertained by their band. It's just this Houston thing...on the road and at night. I know they lost Keenum. I know they also lost his backup and are now
down to a true redshirt freshman in Broadway. I know we don't have
Croom on the sideline anymore.Still, last year they rolled up 550+ yds on us in our house. This year they're a 3-1 team that has put a lot of points on the board already.
So remind me again why we're all assuming this game is a lock?

I haven't gotten that feeling at all from the board.Houston kicked our *** at home last year and we're not good enough to overlook anyone at this stage. Keenum or not they run a system there and its been working, obviously with Keenum out it won't be nearly as effective but still. I feel like we'll be ready and that Diaz and Co will give young Terrance Broadway fits all night.

They struggled with Tulane until putting it away late.

Aforementioned QB issue.

Most importantly, the majority on this board think we're moving out of the SEC cellar. A middle of the pack SEC team should handle the best CUSA team most Saturdays. If we lose that game, it will be incredibly difficult to get to .500 on the season. Now, this all means dick on the outcome of the game, but "wool" isthe main reason why we're counting it as a win.

I don't think it will be particularly easy, but I think we will win it. </p>

have beatena perenennial SEC power you haven't beaten since 1973, I'm no longer intimidated by Houston's home field advantage or their 3rd string QB. I don't give a damn they beat us 70-0 four decades ago or whatever. These aren't the same teams, believe it or not. I realize we are still M-State, but we're aren't your Croom's M-State team, we've upgraded.

All this was true last year too, and it took us giving them the game via unforced turnovers for them to win it. If we don't turn the ball over we win this game.

no more Croomesque decisions.
Just got an odd feeling about this one being lost in the mix with Florida looming the following week. Dan will have them amped up for that one... and to me that is a winable game given how poorly their offense has performed the last few games.

that has taken that step to remove ourselves from the SEC cellar. And a team that is a middle-of-the-pack SEC team goes to Houston and beats them with their 3rd string QB playing. I think the most feels like we should win, but by no means feel like its in the bag.

I dont think you have to worry about our players looking ahead to Florida- they know just like we do who we have a better chance of beating.

And I see some people getting wooly about the Fla game- you need to relax...the Fla game in the Swamp is going to go about the same way the LSU game did.

matter what I think, The only thing that matters are the coaching staff the the team and what they are thinking. I am very confident that this coaching staff will have them ready to play. Last year, with all the bad calls and breaks that cost us a few games, they always came ready to play and I give credit of that to Mullen and his staff. They will be ready.</p>

Because this is a key game in our season. This is one of the last games where we've got to man up & just go take care of business. We'll be playing on the roadwith abig game coming up the following week so it will not be easy to keep the team focused. But we better take this game very serious - this can make or break our season. It would be win #4, and assuming we beat UAB for homecoming it sets us up for a huge game at home against Kentucky fighting for that 6th win.

Also rememberHouston has a week off to prepare. No telling what we'll see from them on offense.

and florida the only game the next week. I can't believe Mullen looks at it any other way and I don't either.

Only an idiot assumes a victory before the end of the game. Even dumber to look past two teams at the third.
