Ole Miss has proven nothing by beating Memphis at home and regarding KY I'm not sold on the fact that beating Louisville this year will mean much. But at least they did both win which is more than we can say.

Our talent is OK-mid pack

Our 3 top coaches (Cheese, McCurvey, Slytanic) combined talents can't equal most mid major college's HC.

Here's to hoping we pull an 11-1 season, but more likely we're staring at 01-06 aGAIN. THIS TIME, we need to nip it and move on.

If you read any message board in the United States, every team that loses thinks they have players that can win, but they're "aren't coached up".

2008 was going to be a grim year anyway. Mstate's best hope was to muddle through at 6-6, then load up for 2009. MState just lost one of the games they were counting on to win. Losing our best offensive player and our best defensive player before the end of spring to stupidity doesn't help.</p>

It's not the worst in the conference, but it's in the 8-10 range. We're weak on the OL, thin on the DL, and below average at QB. The only positions we're even arguably #6 or better would be DB, LB (before Chaney got hurt) and RB.

will we still be at season end? Who knows, but at this point there may only be one or possibly two teams that could sink lower than we are.

This weekend is the test. If Arkansas loses to LA Monroe at their house.
And we beat SE La. by more than 3 TD's. Arkansas is the worst. Thats how I see it for now.

.....going to be a grim year anyway? WHAT? You could have damn well fooled me. Everything out of the coaches' mouths, players' mouths, and fans' mouths in the off-season was that with an easier schedule and an overall more experienced team than we entered 2007 with would bring us at least 7 wins again. While I agreed that that should be what happens, I was more cynical because of how I saw us win those games in 2007. Nevertheless, the majority opinion was that we'd have another good year to keep building our program in the right direction. And frankly that SHOULD be the case.

Now, as has been so typical of MSU fans in the past, I'm seeing our fans backtrack and pretend as if they never expected this season to be that great in the first place. ********. The only reason for doing this is to cover for the ineptitude of the coaching staff which is an MSU fan trademark. To hell with losing Mike Brown and Derek Pegues. You STILL beat La. Tech. Maybe we should have replaced every starter on the OL and almost everyone on the DL like Vandy had to do.
