Not physically but mentally tired. They have to play at such a high level every single time they step on the floor and have played a hell of a schedule. I played a ton of sports, never really got physically tired but I can remember games that I was not there mentally

SID's worst nightmare, describe saying ***** instead of shots and saying Delaware is the blue hoes instead of the blue hose...
Actually Delaware is the blue hens. Presbyterian is the blue hose. That was the team that had the fan yell miss it in the nose dome and Roy had him escorted out.

Good post hart. I think one of the things overlooked here is that Tre is getting assigned to the best outside player every game. The point is, when you are an exceptional defensive player, it takes all of your focus and energy. It goes without saying that Tre is locked in to his man. He also has to set up the offense, and the combination of these things take a toll. There is a lot of mental stress that saps your energy, and will affect your shot as well.
He has had games where he has shot well, probably because the "D" was just playing better, or he didn't have to stop a really great guard.
Forget the "tired legs" syndrome, all the kids just plain get tired at one point or another.
I think if you were to ask Tre if he needs more time to rest, he would just laugh and say "I'm doing just fine".
Go Duke!

Mental fatigue could definitely be a problem. A little in game coaching while on the bench would be a nice luxury and probably benefit him a lot.

Tre has just been exposed to multiple game plans and circumstances. His offense has suffered for only two games because of it. We were saying he just had one of his best offensive game against UVA. He’s a freshman and this was a notably difficult stretch. He’s going to come out of it with some nice ammunition on his ammo belt.

Agreed.
I think the biggest thing is that he stays content offensively with being a playmaker. Defenses are giving him space behind the arc, he has to discipline himself to not launch it. It’s one thing if the shot-clock is at 5 seconds, but tonight he took a couple 3’s with a solid 15 seconds left. I wouldn’t find it problematic if he was around 34% or something slightly below average but he’s at 25% and majority of those looks this year have been wide open.

I’m sure it’s easier said than done to disclipline himself when they’re backed off of him because he knows he’s capable. Doesn’t help that he watches everyone else launch away. But, there’s better shots to be had.

And its evident that he is thinking too much about the shot before taking it. He's not confident or comfortable right now releasing his 3 pt shot. Tell ya what, he zipped those free throws however, and they were crucial!
His D on Battle was stifling. OFC

Right. He didn’t look like a poor free throw shooter yesterday at all. He’s more comfortable in the mid range. He’s better shooting when he actually jump with his shot. It doesn’t look like he jump at all on 3s. His midrange jumpers look so much better and confident. He’s a young Tony Parker right now. Forget the 3. Just work on that mid range
