Arkansas gonna Arkansas. The SS not going for the double play was some serious foreshadowing. And I’d feel bad for that left fielder if he played for just about anyone else.

I love laughing at Arkansas, but we suck too. We have the worst winning percentage in the cws of any team that’s won a championship. We could go 5-0 at the cws next year and still be under.500 all time (albeit by only a game). Also, we had a 15 point lead at half in women’s basketball national championship and lost. Sorry…flame away.

The down side is that LSU had to win for it to happen.
Brutal 9th inning. That 1B robbed the 2nd baseman of an easy ground ball earlier in the inning; then they took the lead runner at 3rd instead of turning two; then the dropped line drive to LF; then the line off the SS’ glove.
The backdrop of all of this is their freshman pitcher couldn’t land his slider consistently. LSU was spitting on it. So, he kept falling behind.

Ok? Even if that is true, we have a Natty, finals appearance and Top 4 finish in 3 of our last 4 trips so I'm not gonna complain about our Omaha performances.
Here's another thing, if the second baseman hadn't touched that ball with his glove I'm not sure the run scores. Him tipping it slowed it down enough to give the runner time to score.
That's part of the curse. He still had to try. If he was an LSU player the catch would have been made.
Arky gave the corndogs three extra outs and several extra bases in that epically disastrous ninth but the biggest mistake by far was the decision by the SS to throw out a meaningless baserunner at third on a tailor made DP ball that could have ended the game! Had he went to 2nd, the 2B would have had the ball with the runner only half way to first! Even if they failed to complete the DP, the tying run would have still be on first and there would still be two outs! Absolutely ZERO upside for taking out that runner on third.
The only silver lining for the pigs is they will now forget about the missed popup, but will NEVER forget this one. Sheesh!

Nah. Being Arkansas in the 9th, the second baseman would have airmailed the throw to first and the runner would have advanced. It was inevitable.
