Isn't recruiting fun?
Mitchell, 6-feet-4, 220 pounds, with 4.53 speed in the 40, also had official offers from Michigan, Tennessee, Tulsa, Mississippi State and Tulane and still plans to make official visits to Tulsa on Jan. 23 and MississippiState Jan. 30. Mitchell was scheduled to visit Michigan this weekend, but cancelled the trip, he said, due to his Arkansas commitment and so as not to conflict with Amite basketball game's against Pearl River on Friday.
"I told (Arkansas' coaches) that I'm pretty much committed to them. I just want something to compare them to,'' Mitchell said in explaining his trips to Tulsa and MississippiState. "I'm 90 percent sure that I'm a Razorback.''

Brandon Mitchell is fully qualified with an 18 on the ACT and a 3.0 grade-point-average, Amite Coach Alden Foster said.
Tulsa and MississippiState are recruiting Mitchell as an athlete, with State projecting him as a wide receiver or safety and Tulsa projecting him as a receiver. Former Ole Miss, USM and O. Perry Walker coach Frank Wilson is recruiting Mitchell for State.
The opportunity to play quarterback, Mitchell said, "That's pretty much why I decided to go to Arkansas. I want to play quarterback.''
Mitchell committed to LSU and former Coach John Brady in basketball, but de-committed prior to the start of his senior year following the arrival of Trent Johnson as coach.
"When Coach Trent Johnson came in, he and I talked and I told him about how interested I was in playing football,'' Mitchell said. "He suggested to me that it might be a good idea for me then to de-commit and work on football. That's what I did. Football is going to be my deal. I'm strictly football (now).''
