I'm interested in thoughts on what the best way to stop the Ole Miss offense inside the scoring 8. It sticks out to me that they take Wallace off the field and put in Brunetti most of the time; how should we be trying to stop this?

I'd love to think that Skinner is back healthy and he could spy on Brunetti and he is big enough to stop Brunetti in his tracks, maybe Whitley could do something similar, but this board has a lot of smart football minds on it ...

Glad you asked, the team that tackles better will probably win the game. If we

don't tackle well their receivers and scat backs are going to have a big day and we will get run off the field. If our defense comes to play and tackles well then I think it will be a close game.

Alabama did a wonderful job on big downs against ole miss ESPECIALLY in the red zone. The def ends would come across making Wallace step up and take the off tackle gap. The corners sat on the inside shoulder of the wide outs making it difficult for the quick slant. The inside linebackers slid off tackle in perfect position to tackle wallace or bat down the inside pass if he tried to throw it. They pretty much were going to make him beat them long and outside as far as passes. The times I have seen ole miss they live and die with the passes over the middle. I think and hope our def line can shut down their to small of a running back for inside the tackles (sound familiar) ground game. I know this seems like over simplification but that is what Alabama appeared having success with.
