Incredible that no one is discussing the fact she can walk away and still collect her full salary. Rutgers was bidding against itself for her services. This is practically lighting money on fire. Where’s the outrage from Killingsworth?
Hobbs definitely was hog tied with this decision to give Stringer a 5 year contract at this point. If Viv were younger maybe it makes sense but now to see the entire contract it shows quite a lot about the situation and how it would or could have negatively hurt Rutgers had they decided differently. I think most fans don’t see her coaching another 5 years here. Can you imagine the negative press had Hobbs said , “ sorry coach we have decided to go in a different direction.”
How about “we are heading in a different direction and are offering you a 2-3 year contract”?
You got it this woman is basically holding Hobbs hostage and has no shame at all in doing so enough already
She can argue if I don’t get a 4 or 5 year contract recruits won’t want to come here if I won’t be here all 4 years to coach them.
But they have been coming, so maybe the 5 year contract will keep the ball rolling.
