As bad as we are, I can't help feeling like we should have won that game

Friday! 4th and one in bowl game who trots a FG kicker with limited range out there to attempt a 42 yard kick to go up three?

is it true about the supposed locker room fight?
That is the rumor...I don't know if it's true but can attest that from that moment on we have been woeful. Grant Wells has gone from the next Pennington to just another guy we roll out there!

Well if true, how can a fight in the locker room after a bowl game “cost us the season “? The season was over.

Maybe cost the head coach or assistant coach(s) or player(s), but the season was over. It was a win to just get through the season.

I take some solace in your point Westsider, in this crazy COVID year only Clemson or 'bama will have a season to remember. The rest of us will have to be content that we fielded teams and played when we could. However for the wheels to just fall of MU they way they did is still vexing, many questions need to be answered but they won't be addressed if I know MU.

With Doc’s contract up in June, this would be the best time to move on .... dollar wise. If they re-sign him, you can bet that there will be buyout clauses included.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Has Doc got the program under control and moving in the right direction?

Opinions will vary.

Yes, opinions vary and I find myself being wishy washy on this issue. I don't like Doc's in game decision making at times and don't like his OC at all. But who are we going to get to replace him if we let him go? We have to be realistic about where we stand on the car lot.

The rumored fight was before the Rice game, only to be followed by 3 consecutive losses. So yes, it did cost us the season.

Certainly cost us a memorable season! September MU squad would beat the December MU squad by 30 points like to have an explanation as to why by somebody in the know.

Wasn’t aware (like I stated) that is was before the Side Dish U. game

This appears to be (for a total outsider looking in) the first time Doc has lost control of the team and it must of cut pretty deep to effect the team for that long.

First time? I don't think so.

Yes, John should be gone
I find myself leaning in that direction but the "elephant in the room" is who do we replace him with? I've heard " a top coordinator " but coordinators at P-5 schools make more than Doc currently does so seems unlike we 'd get somebody of that ilk offering a significant cut in pay. I agree that Doc has for the most part under achieved at MU and the way the wheels just fell off the team to end this years season was vexing. I guess there are good young coaches out there that would relish the opportunity to coach the Herd....just like to hear their names before we pull the trigger on Doc!
