As odd as this question my sound... I have to ask it...

With all of the conference realignment going around, a scenario I could never fathom seems like it might be rather plausible... If the Big East loses another team, it will drop them under 6 teams which, I believe, is the required number of teams a conferences must have to be considered a BCS AQ conference. If this were to happen.. would the likelyhood of C-USA becoming a BCS conference higher than what most people thought?<div>
</div><div>Normally I don't like talking about a lot of things I read from BGN because there's nothing but sunshine pumpers on that board, but I found this to be slightly interesting in regards to the BE.</div><div>

<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-size: small; ">"I spoke this evening with another guy who is in the same business I am in. We have a lot of the same contacts, so we were talking about the Big East (of course). I knew the vote Friday was for show...it didn't work as intended, of course, because the Big East has lost control of their message. What I didn't know was that the only current football school in the Big East that would agree this past week to put in writing their commitment to football membership even in the 2012 season was South Florida.

The football schools were told that the Academies want some commitment in writing regarding who is staying. This is critical, of course, because if the BE drops below 6 football schools then the conference can no longer sponsor the sport and the BCS bid is vacated. Every school outside of South Florida, including Pitt and 'Cuse of course, would not put that in writing.

That explains, too, the conflicting messages all week and Marinatto having to clarify today who they have "plans" to invite and who the have "actually" invited (no one). It seems it's not only the basketball schools that are stringing this out. I do feel bad for Marinatto because he is getting undercut from every side: the media and his own members. Stay tuned, I guess...although I don't really know what Marinatto can deliver at this point unless some schools, any school really, is willing to leap blindly at whatever the BE offers."</span></div><div></div>
</span></div><div>That super mediocre league that MWC and CUSA want to start together just might actually get the AQ status they've been looking for. I don't know what to make of that.</div>

and increase the limit on teams from one conference to three. The big 4 bowls are paying a lot of money and they've got to be tired of getting stuck with mediocre teams.
