we have a new walk-on QB. 6-2, 230 and the blues music is a nice touch for the highlight video. I almost felt like I was at the crossroads.

Hard to tell from the video if he's worth a crap, but good to have another body on the field in case Lee gets hurt. Sure would like to see Russell sit out year #1.

....that a walk-on QB offered by Mullen is going to be at least as good as a walk-on QB offered by Croom.

It wouldn't shock me if a walk-on QB offered by Mullen is going to be at least as good as a scholarship QB offered by Croom.

The most potential I see is that he has a quick release. Mechanics are kinda crappy, but he gets it out quick.

He flips it and it's out of there. Now the other 7 things I'd grade him on...... hard to tell off a 5 min high light.

I know this, He's got a freakin canon. Like saddawg said, Mechanics aren't quite there yet, but I'll take it, I guess.

Fact: Walk-on QB under Croom > Any Scholarship QB signed by Croom**

And the sad fact is that statement can't even be debated. Probation just ended folks. it has been a long 5 years.

as far as the actual throwing motion. but, so were vince young's and david carr's (no, i'm not saying he could be as good as they were - just that mechanics don't mean everything, esp. in college). he does appear to have a strong arm, though, at least strong enough to make plays. he definitely isn't opposed to running the ball, and his offense had some designed QB running plays.

he is a walk-on, but hopefully can provide depth. i think either he or relf could be the dual threat backup, and hopefully we'll get to redshirt russell.

I find it hard to believe that a 6'2" qb with pretty good speed and a good arm doesn't have something else wrong with him besides mechanics to end up a walkon.

It appears this guy has had some serious grade issues...Hopefully he can provide us with some depth.

Graduated from Port Sulphur (LA) High School the spring of 2004. Did not attend college until the spring of 2006, when he attended Pearl River CC. Transferred to Mississippi Delta CC the fall of 2006. Transferring to Coahoma CC for the fall of 2007.

As you can tell from his bio, he sat 2005 out. For all I know, he might have been treading water because where he went to high school, Port Sulphur, was probably the hardest hit area by Katrina. Really good talent in that parish though.

Say what you want about Jackie Sherrill but the man knew college football and he once said that you are gambling on a player's career by letting him play as a true freshmen. So few are ready to play big time college football and many times coaches put them on the field with no chance of them succeeding due to immaturity both mentally and physically. By doing this you could break their confidence and they may never recover.
